Thanked 16 Times in 7 Postswhen you press the volume buttun at the left side,is there a speaker or a headphone on your screen?

When I press the volume button, it shows the icon of a Speaker.
I upgrtaded to the 0927Off version yesterday.
Cleared the registries, installed, brought back only contacts and speed dial #'s from the backup.
The Earpiece is working, I can make and receive calls.
Ringer and SMS Alert are working, I can hear ring when a phone call is coming and the SMS alert.
BUT Still I cannot play any music without the headphones. There has to be some setting someplace hidded or otherwise that is stuck on not letting the sound come from the Phone speakers.
0927 seems to be working OK for right now, the phone is usable.919263

What if you were to use your computer to format the whole M8?

Havok160,
THanks for the really great tip, this proves users here think outside the box.
Although you have suggested something outside the norm, and I checked, everything there looks OK... volume is enabled and all... still the same issue remains...
Something happened this evening.. I was talking to someone on the phone, had to enable the speaker so that everyone could hear, but after that I could not get any sound after the speaker was switched off..., but the next call was OK..... Something freaky is going on with this phone...

Finally Resolved the Music Playing Issue
OK, Guys, this is what I did.
I am not sure why I did not think of this before, but yesterday trying to play the music, I was having the same issues, so this is what I did.
I moved all the songs from the Music folder to a temp folder that I created for this, then I moved just one song back to the Music folder, and tried to play it... No Luck.
Then I did a 'Complete Refresh" of the Music folder and tried to play it again and IT PLAYED.....

Then I moved all the songs back to the Music folder and did a Complete Refresh again......
ALL THE SONGS PLAY NOW....

Maybe we would like everyone to know, if you do an fWupdate, and songs do not play , try to do a move and back and then a complete refresh... it should work.....
Thanks all for your comments and help... but as I thought It was a SW issue.
NOW if Only I could get Opera to work with GPRS
UCWeb works, but not Opera, can someone who has this working compare notes with me so that I can see what I am missing????
Thanks again...

Thanked 50 Times in 20 PostsThis just happened to me today... on FW 915... hadnt installed any appz or updated the FW.
I noticed today that when pluged in, the earphones were sounding distorted... and after a bit of jiggling the sound returned to normal... for a while.
Later on. the problem persisted (sounding like the base of the music was turned down to zero).
Checked otheer earphones and the problem the same.
Then the normal speaker (without earphones) has stopped working. With earphones the music is still distorted and also on video playback.
Now, I cant even speak to people... I can hear the sms recieved tone and the phone rings ok... but neither I nor the other person on a call can hear eachother... what the frak is up? Had the phone only a month... tried turning it on and off...restart and pluging in and removing the earhones countless times in oreder to try to restore the loudspeaker.
sounds like the same issue others have had..but just came on suddenly. Hope someone can help me out as none of the above suggestions have worked...I'm thinking its a hardware problem (yet the phone speaker works on sms and call tone).
Any help would be appreciated..

Hi everyone, I recently had the same problem as 919263 - when the phone rings - it plays the song from the speakers, but in the music player (as well as video and recorded files) it only plays sound through earphones. I tried the whole music moving and music folder refreshing thing, which worked - for about 20 minutes until it stopped working again. What I did is simply remove the battery (while the phone is on) and wait for a while (around 10 mins). After this, I simply turned on the phone again and everything was completely fine.
I think what caused the problem in the first place is unplugging the earphones while music player is playing... guess taking out the battery makes the phone "reset" itself in terms of whether or not something is plugged in.
Kind regards,

It's actually a bug that's been there since like.... firmware v0.8, so you should try not ever to pull out earphones while music's playing.
