Can't seem to get my phone to recognize the firmware. Everytime I try to upgrade it just says clearing registries and boots back to the default settings. Can someone please help me with this issue?

Hold the side button and not the menu button while turning it on.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

I wonder what does "Optimize the treatment of long messages" mean in the googlish changelog. Can someone provide us with a better translation?
    Thanks!

Probably means that it handles creating longer text messages better. In the last couple firmwares when i compose a long message after so long it gets buggy and will start messing up by not registering words I've entered and cutting stuff off so I end up having to send the message and then start writing another one. So hopefully it is saying that it handles making longer messages now way better. :D

Can't find any western song lyrics that I've tested, not even Hotel California - a song wildly popular in China.

Overall this firmware feels much smoother, a worthy upgrade from 0.9.0.5 IMO!
Strangely though, a lot of my J-pop has lyrics. Didn't know they were popular in China.

I feel this release is far smoother than previous ones
My M8 has never been so fast and touch screen sensitivity has been improved

Anyone who would second this opinion ???

I am on the 0905 4/20 version, is working OK for me, but I do reboot the phone once every 2-3 days, and I think with anything Windows that is a good practice...

So the Final version is smoother, but it has been stated that the file date and size is the same as the 4/30 version, can this be confirmed somehow?
I am going to download the FW today, but till I get some more feedback, not going to install it.

Yes, the firmware leaked on 04-30 is exactly the same as the official version byte to byte. However I feel it's better than the 04-20 version, so I would recommend you to update.

The final version is definately smoother, quicker and so it is nicer.
I recommend you to update to! Also the Block2Lock game is build for the 0.9.0.5 version.

But i miss the lack of flashplayer, as everybody does...
Since Youtube is blocked in China, Meizu isnt going to focus on a Youtube app, as Apple did....

this is my first post in english(the german language is my native one )...so please do keep that in mind if i make some mistakes

i upgraded my m8 today to .5 firmware
and must admit the meizu team did a nice job on that version...
    everthing feels faster...

i also noticed that the .4 firmware was bigger in size compared to .5
they must have cleaned up a little bit...probably explains the smother running of the system

the lyric feature...actually finds some lyrics
..some famous artist like coldplay and gunsNroses more than other...-->good start for a newly added feature

didnt uses the camera before...but can say...that it was and still is very slow with the shutter

Fast shot mode can solve this problem (sport shot)

It slow because automatic mode try to calculate light and choose appropriate time that shutter collect the light

and in low ambient light situation you need to hold shutter longer to collect the light

that why some picture you take was blur cos your is not camera stand

It can be solve if Meizu make fast shot mode for user who don't care about quality of photo but want to capture a moment.

That's what I don't understand...previous firmware had different light-metering options, but it seems they have removed those completely, and gave us an automatic mode instead

It can be the same as non-collect (I think low) light mode by lowest "light" parameter that will give you very dark photo but work great outside in morning

but not fast shot (or it can't be) I mean no light collecting and focusing or smart photo calculating (m8 has one to make photo look better than cheap Chinese clone phone)

Can we say give us manual mode? HaHa!!
