Seriously, whats wrong with these guys at Meizu, I am still waiting for the goddamn firmware 1.0.
The phone has been officially release for quite a while, so when is the final firmware gonna be released.
We members at MeizuMe, were hoping to see the M8 for 2 years before it was finally released, so what, we have to wait another friggin 2 years for the goddamn firmware??????

i am glad i am not the only one who is willing to wail on (verbally) Meizu. But, if you feel this way, the best place to exhibit these sentiments is forum.meizu.com

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsIt is not a good idea to complain about Meizu. It isn't apple or samsung or nokia, so if you want a good firmware, just wait. If you are not happy with this firmware, then mail Meizu about your problems, so help them, they should not hesitate the make of the firmware. Or else, there will be a 1.1 version of the firmware fast!
Dont like the Meizu M8, put your complaint in the wishlist or list of bugs-thread.
Help them, instead of complaining, everybody knew this from the beginning, you know what you started, so just be patient
I am more worried about the available apps then a good firmware.Last edited by LVL; 04-17-2009 at 11:43 AM.

Yeah, I have similar sentiments.
However, Meizu is a young company, and M8 is their first phone. I always keep that in mind when using Meizu products, especially this time with the M8. That said, I can definitely see how some people can become disappointed at this. Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI don't understand how you die hard meizu fans choose to make such misguided statements... why can't we complain about meizu??? Whats wrong with that? Why can we complain about nokia and samsung? because they are western or bigger or more experienced? When did that become a standard for a company releasing any product into the market?

instead of waiting for a fw i have just adjusted myself to use the phone as-is until i am ready to buy a new one and take all the new software development by users with silent gratitude; especially since its free - that doesn't mean i don't have every right to be unsatisfied with Meizu.
Of course at the end of the day we conciously bought a Chinese product, which is not marketed or supported outside of China or even in English, so we don't have any official grounds for complaints
; but if i am not wrong i believe Pekingman is in China, so if he as a chinese consumer is unsatisfied with Meizu he has a right to say whatever he wants.

don't forget....your not paying the m8 a lot to demand with very high level of performance, you shall not forget that the entertainment features itself (that you are paying more on other brands), are already far more better than the rest of the entertainment gadget - the phone part is just the bonus.
yes, we are customer we have the right to complaint, but meizu did not push their products to us, we pursue meizu m8, and they provide it somehow. though its not perfect with all the bugs, yet they are trying to address it, but when we can't tell, they dont promise this on their product when you purchase it, we can't complaint, we can simply wish it that it will be sooner.*************************************

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsOf course it is always buyer beware - as it was unfortunately for those babies who died because of poisoned milk powder

1. the phone part is a bonus! i thought the M8 was sold as a phone, at least thats how meizus pictures show it on the homepage
2. they did not push their products on us, but we only 'pursued' them after they adverstised and made press releases; we choose to buy because of those advertised features.
you are like the perfect consumer! i have some magic beans to sell you...

Somehow i can understand the frustration about Meizu. It was a really long phase of development and promises and they knew about the international interests on the M8 long before the first release date was mentioned and they throw a kinda "china-only" product on the market. Also they always had an eye on the competition (Apple, HTC and so on...) and there should be any sing of attempts to be at least fairly equal to those products.
But we all know that the M8 is still young and theres a growing fanbase which will bring more and more stuff for it in the future. So be patient

Thanked 173 Times in 72 Posts@anxiousone: if pekingman is so disappointed and want to say all this complaint, then he should do that on a chinese forum, so the people at Meizu can explorer all this complaints and fix it in the next firmware. Also samsung, nokia etc has a lot more programmers over the whole world, meizu has only a few, it IS a small company compared to samsung or nokia. And especcialy the people outside of china should not complaint, they all know they bought a chinese phone with little english support.
After all, i think Meizu should focus on the developing of the phone itself, not translation, people outside of china should do that.(as crimson/alexxei:D)
And keep in mind: people inside of china have a higher priority then people outside of china. And of course the phone itself is chinese, not english.Last edited by LVL; 04-17-2009 at 06:25 PM.

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostI am actually quite happy with the M8 and its firmware, because it is pretty "open" compared to the iPhone for example. A lot of missing parts can be added by one self.
E.g. International keyboards, many applications etc...
Sure it could be better, but we have almost weekly firmware-updates and I think Meizus Developers will use the potential this phone offers and hopefully fix the bugs soon!

First of all, I do live in Beijing, and although I am a foreigner (canadian/white), I have been in china for more than 20 years, so YES i consider myself a "local customer".......
Secondly, I have posted on the chinese BBS and the replies i get are useless for the most part.
I have also repeatedly asked Meizu to come out with an English SDK so that people like myself can customize the phone also (which would obviously benefit Meizu....), yet all my requests went unanswered.....
Thirdly, The Meizu M8 in NOT a "china-only" phone. If it was, then why would there be an English website and why would there be international marketing of Meizu products???? And yes , it IS a phone, thats what it what conceived as, designed as, and released as, A PHONE.
As a long time fan of Meizu, I was on this site when it was first created, to help in the development of (opinions, suggestions, designs....) the M8.
So yeah, Im pissed off a bit. And i have a right to be.
I have supported this M8 project for a long time and i expect a little support in return.....
Is that too much to ask???Last edited by pekingman; 04-18-2009 at 01:11 PM.

ALSO, FOR THE RECORD...
IF MEIZU(the company), and Jack Wong and his Dev team dont pay attention to what goes on in THIS FORUM on MeizuMe.com then i am HIGHLY dissapointed in them, this site has done ALOT for the M8 in terms of development, marketing, and web presence, whether they admit it or not......
Meizume was the first site to have GOOD photos of the M8, and actual hands on reviews.
Word up MeizuMe.Last edited by pekingman; 04-18-2009 at 01:25 PM.

oh.. you are in china for 20yrs, and you still dont get what the chinese culture is.... how sad, you sound totally frustrated.... me only here in china for 3yrs, yet on the 1st year i've already find china worst culture... deals, promises or commitment (if in business) that ain't in law binding writing, it will be never followed, your lucky if your verbals deals will be realized on time...

You are the one who doesnt get the chinese culture my friend, its the OLDEST culture there is, and 99% of the things you use in your daily life were originally invented in china.
Its obviously better than your own country, otherwise you would not be living here....
Dont worry about me, Im fine, but i DO feel sorry for you.
