    Daylight Savings

    Hey Everyone!

Since we recently switched back to summer time (I live in Germany) I've realised that the daylight savings change hasn't been noticed by the M8 - It's still calculating the difference between Germany and China as 7 hours which should now be 6... Anybody have any ideas how to change this or do you guys reckon it's just not been programmed (in which case this post should be in the bugs list...)

    Regards, Ubrschwein

Edit: Added to the M8 firmware wishlist. Thanks nice2know_u - yeah while I was living in China we didn't have any DST ;-)

I think they forgot about the daylight saving change, since they don't use it in China (if I know correctly...). So yeah, we can either add this to the firmware wishlist or might as well to the buglist too.

I fixed this on my phone by going into the control panel and updating the time zone in regional settings. There is a check box to adjust for daylight savings time. Now I don't have to reset the clock after syncing.

The time zone descriptions were in Chinese, but you can read the GMT +/- numbers just fine.

I have posted a solution in the tips and tricks section which involves changing the time zone via registry edit - maybe you could give that a try... Possibly do a search in googe on how daylight savings is implemented in registry and then try that, or just use my method and go in and manually change the time zones...

EDIT: WAIT - i just realized like everything else Meizus programs are running on top of winCE, not interacting with the registry that much - the m8 gets the system time via the control panel/registry. The clock program has its own set of protocols - if the above does not work, or actually before you actually try the above, try using XN Resource editor to edit the clock.exe.0409.mui - i have a post on the same somewhere earlier as well - sorry just too lazy to look it up.

let us know if any of the above work.

EDIT: here is the post: http://www.meizume.com/minione-m8/77...html#post82450
