M8 Firmware 0.9.0.4 [2009.03.24 version](leaked)

He just released a new firmware version (don't know the version number) at the chinese bbs, but he also said they need 2 days to solve some bugs in the Opera browser. So we can expect an official firmware in Thursday.
I don't have a list of improvements just yet, but I'll look around and see what I can find (Meizu's website is very slow at the moment...)

New things:

- group names can be edited in phone book
- sound recorder program





- new option in Music player (you can now order by Album name)

Stop downloading from the link I posted because the rar file is corrupted... Looking for a good one.

JW released wrong file first,and he re-uploaded.However,the one JW released have no icon of Recorder and switch of Call First etc.

there're two versions today,the one which JW released is older than the rayfile link I posted.

I have to agree with you adamL, the quality of the recorded sounds is awesome!

I also feel that the phone is faster. Loading times, like when starting the phone or browsing through the menus, feels improved.

If the releases go on lilke this , then by end of the year we should have a final 1.0 firmware .

They should have given out the m8 for free as we are all beta testers .

I expect that Meizu will get to 1.0 before the end of the year.

I think you took honeynut's comment way too serious.

I hope Meizu will get to FW1.0 at least till June...otherwise it would be a disappointment. Dont get me wrong guys...i love my M8 but it has so much potential and not a single app or something that is actually (really) using this bad ass 667mhz Cpu!

I agree that they are focusing on the chinese market as their primary one but they should start thinking multilingual.

So concerning the new firmware
great we can edit group just one problem the first group impossible to edit.
the opera take more time for open.
and other programs slow when you start Can you change inside Message - Setting - Conversations the phrase is too long just 50 Latest would be best and for message 50 Lastest would be best too
and inside Mails - Setting - Email download if you change phrase in chinese can you check all thing please.

I don't understand what you mean. The option is there as you said, you just need to change it once after each fw upgrade. In fact in the latest leaked version it seems to be latest 50 as default

you can edit the MUI files by yourself with Resource Hacker (search the forum). The string you need to edit is in the MUI file SMS.exe.0409.mui which you can find into the WINDOWS directory.
See example below where I changed "Conversations" into "Chats". Of course you can edit almost all strings if you want to!
