Any one... can you please confirm one way or the other'...if you can receive a call while the GPRS/EDGE icon is active or not..... That is the only feature that is keeping me from upgrading upwards from 0903_2 to anything above that.....

Also M8 Guru's, there must be a reg key that can be changed so that the Phone call takes priority..over GPRS.... like it does in the 0903_2 FW

Any help would be highly appreciated as just for this feature I am lagging behind in the Fw's and not really able to enjoy all the new features that are coming out...

Just wait and watch... there are many Guru's and Pandit's before us to try the version, let them try then we will look forward if that is workable for us or not in English...

Well I put the "xip.bin" file in the root directory of my M8 (the directory with "Backup", "Contact", "Ebook", "Email" etc... in there)
When I shut down my M8 and then turn it on pressing power and "M" button, "Clear registries ..." appears... Then everything is in Chinese and so on, but I don't think the FW is updated, cause it still says "version 9.0.3" in the about screen...

    Why is it not working?

M + power button is for cleaning the registry. To update the firmware press and hold the music button and the power button at the same time (while turning on the phone).

Ahh thanks, that did the trick ^^

    My impressions:
Some scrolling seems a lot smoother (Opera, Pictures, Contacts) but music or email list scrolling is still a little unsmooth as is zooming in photos.

Camera speed is improved, WLan works like before, never had problems with it.

But still here and there some Chinese notifications and contacts tabs is one tab chinese, the others are just "1" and "2"... A little wired...

Hmm, all of my tabs in the contact list are in chinese... but if you open a new one, they will all disappear, except one (I assume it's the "all contacts" tab)

eI managed to delete and create new tabs...
The only thing that sucks is the very limited space for the label. For Example:
    "Friend
    s"
    or
    "Famil
    y"

    I have a major problem since I installed this 0.9.0.4 20:00 firmware.

I first saw that when the phone rang, well actually only vibrate and that I could not take the call, as the screen did not propose to take the call.

Today I discover that when someone calls me, I cannot hear anything. When calling my voicemail, I do not hear anything from the speaker. However, I can hear something if I plug my earset or if I press the "speaker" button on the call panel.

I cleaned the registry and downgraded to 0.9.0.4, the sound did not come back. Same with the official release 0.9.0.3 from the official site.

Strangely enough, the keyboard clicks make the sound, but the music player does not work either with the built-in speakers.

The phone behaves as if the recent firmware had removed the functionality to hear sound from the internal speaker (front ear + rear speakers). And I cannot get it back, even with previous firmwares.

Does someone know how to reactivate that?

If you got the same issues with different firm/soft-wares, your problem might be hardware related...

Have you tried the Volume Control program? It's under "downloads" on this page and might help resolve your issue...

Do you use headphones and if yes original or not? Same issue was repaired by member of other forum by insert and remove original meizu headphones some times - contact in the headphone jack short, meizu think that you insert the headphone and out sound to it - in the jack, not the speaker. It's one variant i'm not guarantee that this help you repair your phone...

Thanks for your comments. So i am the only one having this issue...

i do not think it is an hardware problem, because the rear speakers work when i press the speaker button "hand free". but they do not work when i want to play a mp3 file. they also work if i do not mute the keyboard clicks.

it could be a jack problem, but that is strange... well i will try again downgarding and i will keep you posted if that is resolved.

i think you were right about the jack. today the sound works again, and i have the impression that putting in and out the headphones (especially putting the plug deep inside) solved my issue. thank you very much. i was completely depressed these days, that my 2 month old m8 would not work anymore!!!
