Meizu M8 Firmware Wishlist

what do you think of the following functions:

- automatic on/off (off at 12 pm - on at 5 am for example) would save battery

- alarm should work even when phone is turned off during the night

- desktop-shortcut creator in the systems-menu

are you missing some functions too??

These aren't missing features, they were never promised in the initial M8 anyways. These don't really classify as bugs either, since they are just features that Meizu decided to not implement.

maybe thatīs right, but wouldnīt it make sence to discuss about "missing" stuff and maybe add some functions to the phone!? Even if they dont want them to add to the origin version maybe more people miss them?! The functions that i miss arenīt any freaky or stupid stuff (like a lighter-function or bottle opener)...just normal functions that would be nice to have on the phone and itīs only a software-programming thing i guess...

Just another reason for Meizu to come out with an ENGLISH (multilanguage) SDK.

Then we could write these simple softwares by ourselves....

I totally dig the auto on/off function and the alarm function you mentioned.

This is a standard function in a lot of mobile phones actually. All my Sony-Ericsson phones and the 2 Nokias I used to have, had a function like that. Since I used to turn them off for the night to save battery I still could use them as my main and only alarm to wake up in the morning

Would be cool to see this appear in a future update of the firmware!

This should be a fun discussion.. What other features can we dream up?

How about different wallpaper options for each of the main screens?

How about a random wall paper generator that changes backgrounds at a set time interval?

wish I knew how to program..

Auto-rotate should be on any applications which use keyboard

You can always mute it or turn off the phone (flight mode).

Features that I'm looking forward to:

- an option to set the default keyboard layout
- sliding feature in emails (left and right for previous/next) - update: you can do this by pressing on content of email and a new menu will come up (previous/delete/next email) - thanks tails!
- wallpaper backup
- faster thumbnail loading in Photos
- sent SMS notification
- draft folder for SMS
- automatic turn off and turn on option (with specifiable time)
- an option in opera to load the english version of certain websites (google, flickr...)
- being able to delay alerts with one of the hardware keys
- 9 keys keyboard
- an option to only delete missed calls and not incoming/outgoing ones too
- being able to turn off T9 dictionary; it would actually save a lot of space on screen

For texting would be good to have the choice between qwerty/azerty keyboard with portrait or landscape mode + classic alphanumeric phone keyboard

Video ringtones! You've got an awesome screen with the M8, why not use it to the fullest?

would also like to have:
- small photos of your contacts in the scrollable contact list
- transition effects when the screen autorotates thanks to accelerometer
- "sort by album" and "sort by style" in the music library (with the same nice interface as the "sort by artist")
