    M8 Firmware 0.9.0.4 [leaked]

New firmware is floating around the chinese bbs, and luckily I could download it.

WARNING: As it's not being an officially released firmware we do not take any responsibility for any damage you might cause to your phone while upgrading!

    New things:

    - animated UI (when you launch and exit programs) - very cool, this alone worth updating

    - MSN and QQ is installed by default (MSN is still in chinese though)
    - an option to only retrieve the subject of Emails has been added
    - Photo Viewer seems a bit smoother when scrolling through a long list of pictures
    - M button will always take you back to Desktop (this is new, in previous firmwares it didn't work with certain programs - control panel for example)
    - Video Player now has 3 resize functions (it's not very clear what it does exactly...)
    - it seems that all the programs made for 0.9.0.3 firmware work without problems
    - camera's video compression seem to have improved (smaller files)
    - camera seem to perform better under low-light conditions
    - when the screen is locked and music is playing you no longer have to slide the music control buttons to the middle of the screen, only touch them
    - more bass compared to 0.9.0.3_2
    - when you have missed calls while the screen is still locked, the phone icon will now take you to the actual Missed Calls screen

    Few screenshots:

They should reparir bugs before improving the ui interface with animations. And before all, they shoult release a meizu app store, they are not doing the things right.

    - Keyboard settings only contain Chinese Pinyin, and can't be turned off

    - There's a new option in Email settings to only retrieve the subject of messages (it has not yet been translated though...)

I guess I would turn off this feature as I did it with my other mobiles before. The animations irritate rather than please the eye and give the feeling of wasting time.
I do not hope that the M8 is such slow that this animation have the funktion of microsofts egg timer.

The phone doesn't feel slower at all with these animations, so you don't have to worry about that

This looks a little flashie to me.
Some of you might know: i looks like a onda MP4 player with a flash GUI.
Maybe they added sort of a flash GUI to the original GUI of the M8
I think youtube(needs flashplayer) is not far away.......

One question, in the mail options, nice2know_u, autorefresh is some kind of timer for searching for new email? Something like push email?

Yeah you can set an interval to search for new emails (every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, every hour) - this is not a new function though
