M8 Firmware 0.9.0.4 [leaked]

really? because before I upgraded the fw pushing M button was closing the music player...
Anyway perhaps I'm just mistaking...

in 9.0.3 u have to stop the music first, then press the M to exit the music player

M8 Cracker (to enable Wifi) still works with 0.9.0.4 Firmware, right? Because if it doesn't, I wouldn't upgrade...

argh! getting insufficient memory space warning when trying to move the xip bin file to root

Did the upgrade this morning, the GUI and the Eye Candy is definetely better.
One thing I noticed as well the Internet is faster...
AND before it did not show the "G" as in 2 or 2.5 G, but only showed "E" edge...

Was able to get the contacts back from the backup easily... that is a really great feature...

Still testing various things... will post later...

camera is better, video viewing is nicer

M8 Cracker worked for the wifi...
One question :
Do you think with the bells and whistles, and the GUI thingy more of the CPU is being used and so the unit will consume more Battery????

Not 100% sure, but I thought the G meant GPRS, not 2.5 G or 3G.

i guess : yes ! Definetly , but not so much as you would have expected, it won't make any big difference between now and after update

"G" stands for the GPRS and "E" stands for the EDGE.. Both of these features are the same but the names are different as per the continents as in Europe and Asia it was used as GPRS and in the USA & Canada it was named as EDGE as you might be knowing that GSM service was the late arrival in the USA market before that America was to useonly WLL or CDMA phones..Thanks to the technology...

EDGE and GPRS are not exactly the same because EDGE is a more faster version of GPRS so you can surf faster with EDGE than with GPRS

How are they compared to EDGE & GPRS????

3G is even faster than EDGE and GPRS, at about 100kb/s.

Yesterday I again tried the 0904 version as I was having some WMV file play issues and wanted to see, if the 0904 had that patch...
The Big issue with the 0904-3 is the same issue with the 0904 as well, if GRPS is active, that little dotted ring is rotating, you will not receive a call, instead it will go to the Voice mail... It will show that you misses a call... and if there is a message left for you , that will also not show as there is no indication for the Voice Mail...
