Sorry, what a "root"? ->Place the xip.bin file into the root of the Meizu M8 via USB Disk mode.
I'm not so good in English. Need Held!

Root is what is sounds like, the root of the player. I can't explain it better. Think of it as the top directory. Don't know if that helps.

Im using Windows Vista and I also cannot see a root-folder (since there are 3 "top directory" folders displayed).

The folder you need to copy the xip.bin file is the "Disk" folder.

when you connect m8 to pc, the first window that you can open is the root. root is the name of the main directory. you dont have to place the file in other folder, only drag it to the first window. than proceed like the other tutorials said k? hope it can help

If you plug the M8 to your PC, Windows will give it a drive letter, e.g. "H:"
Place the xip.bin directly into "H:\" (this is called the root directory of H)

Seen from M8's file browser, this place is "/Disk" ("/" is called the rooth directory of the M8).
