sometimes the system backup function doesn't backup the input dictionary, and when you want to restore it, it does just nothing!
So make sure you keep one of your previous input dictionary backup in a safe place!

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsYou don't have to save every number in two different formats. Just save all of them in +ccxxxxxxx (cc being your country code, and x is the phone number).

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsI find that strange, because all my numbers are in +36xxxxxxx format and I have no problem with SMS sending, or caller ID recognition. Make sure you don't have any space in the number.

Stumpen88 I have the same issue and I'm not the only one on this forum

I found no other solution but to save my numbers in both national and international format

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI even wrote a post about the same on the meizue forum addressed to the meizu engineers (don't know if they ever got it, cause no reply was ever posted) - wince telephony devices normally have a caller ID lookup string in the registry that looksup the last 7 or eight digits of the phone number and matches that with the contacts list - some reason meizu engineers went with some new fangled sh*t - this is and has been my biggest problem with the m8 (vis-a-vis recommending it to someone else) since January and have seen no progress on this issue - the official line is that it works in China so go sod off... different networks will report numbers in different formats - for example my mobile network reports numbers in the +123... ten digit format and after i reluctantly changed all my numbers in that format i am fine with that; but if i get a call from a landline in my country it gets reported as 0123... seven digit (local) format, and the same mobile number which is reported fine in the phone program gets reported without the + in the sms program, so it doesn't get matched with contacts, whats more a reply to the same sms fails becuase it doesn't have the '+' !!!WTF, and since there is no option to edit/add digits to sms number entries i have to remember the whole number and enter it with the '+' manually...
I have resigned myself to thinking Meizu engineers are a. incapable of understanding the problem - primarily because they are in China and they can't replicate it; b. don't really care, because its like admitting they f'ed up in the most basic telephony programming
And, if you look at their fw changelog history, it seems that they aren't inclined to go back and fix old code, more interested in writing new code.
Probably just one of those Asian, save face issues - IMHO
... JW probably doesn't worry about using his M8 internationally, 'cause i doubt he'll be travelling abroad much after that incident in Europe at the convention - pretty embarrassing!

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsI too think the problem is this:
so +1.Meizu engineers are a. incapable of understanding the problem - primarily because they are in China and they can't replicate it
They should really pay more attention to our "wishes" or otherwise nobody will ever buy their products outside of China. If basic functions are not implemented well, then it's (and the upcoming phones are) a dead product.

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsWell, it is a problem in my opinion. Maybe not the most important feature of the phone, but anyway it can come in handy, and I think it's just not right that it stops at 1,5 hours

Another thing: is it just me or if you set a custom sound for SMS the calendar alerts will have the same sound?! So annoying

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI can confirm this bug too, found out some time ago

But I have one question, has anyone encountered problem that you CAN'T drop a call? When other caller doesn't drop, you press cancel, and sometimes call continues with no call UI and no way to drop it.
I can't reproduce it or say what wrongdoings lead to it as my mother is using phone, but still it was pretty weird, only way to kill that call was to reboot phone.
Maybe I am doing someting wrong, but M button didn't drop it, the lower taskbar didn't respond (showing "Seeking network" text).
Anyone?

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsAs I remember you have to press the M button twice to drop a call, or use the button on the screen. M button will take you to the desktop so you can make notes or something else while still talking. So it's not a bug. You should be able to get back to the call screen by pressing the "Calling..." button:
