Release Date: 2010-7-7
Release Type: Engineering Release, not recommend for common user
Release Version: a3.9, base on Linux Kernel 2.6.29
Target Device:
M8 FE 8GB: Yes (No WIFI)
M8 FE 16GB: No
M8 SE 8GB Glass: Yes, with WIFI
M8 SE 8GB PET: Yes, with WIFI
M8 SE 16GB: No
New features & bug fixes:
1. Fix a bug which causes device hang during android boot.
2. No need to boot into CE after flashing this ROM.
3. Some small power management enhancements.
4. Supports M8 SE Marvell 8688 SDIO Wifi Adapter.
Known Issues:
1. GSM and bluetooth is not working.
2. M8 FE Marvell 8686 GSPI WIFI Adapter is not supported.
3. Due to some unknown issue, SE WIFI Adapter can only be recognized by following certain steps (will address it below).
4. There is issue when rescanning AP. If you can't find AP after a rescan, please re-enable the WIFI option.
5. Vold has been temporary disabled, so there will be no SD card.
How to use it:
1. This ROM requires Meizu official mdroid.img to work, please make sure you have it under /Disk folder.
2. Use MPack to generate dual-boot firmware with provided zImage, copy it to /Disk.
3. Copy provided mpatch.img to /Disk
4. Enter upgrade mode and burn this new firmware.
5. You can boot into Android directly (no need to boot into CE first).
How to get WIFI working:
Due to some unknown issue, the WIFI adapter can only be recognized by following steps:
0. During the entire process, your must keep your device connected with computer or power changer with USB cable.
1. Boot into CE, switch WIFI on.
2. Long press power button, choose to "POWER OFF" your device.
3. Power on again, boot into Android
4. Enable WIFI and enjoy.
