  this is set by default on chinese setting.(country code: 86)
  I think that is is maybe the problem that some calls or sms messages doesn't arive or 2 hours later. So you have to set your one country code and region code (list of country and region codes). for me it works well!
  
  NOTE 1: if your country's trunk prefix code isn't: 0
  or your international prefix code isn't: 00
  you have to change the dailing patterns to recive and call/send out of your region/country!
  NOTE 2: it is on your one risk i am also testing with this settings!

I am having problems getting the phone to remember the dial settings,i can change my area code and country code,but when i reboot the phone it is back to the default codes,how can i get the phone to keep my area and country codes...thanks

Okay what i have done is add a new profile, and set it up.
and the setting stay also after rebooting.(in my case)

I am sorry,i dont understand,what do you mean by add a new profile and set it up ?

sorry for my bad english but what i mean is if you go to the dailing settings you have to slide the pop-up menu a bit to the left and click on new..(that is what i meant whit profile)
than set your country and region code and try to clik on the very little ok in the right corner

Thats the problem,even after clicking the ok button,it still goes back to old settings after restart my phone

so after reading all about the new firmware which has been named official and not leak the majority of people think its rubbish.

think i will wait until next week and see what versions they bring out then as i cant be using this pile of poop they have brought out and named official to keep people happy. still not good enough

Does anyone else much prefer the old method for moving icons around the dektop?the new method with the grid is rubbish and seems very inconsistent.

I think the same...the new method sucks (like the new sliding animation from the desktop...).

Yeah nad the widgets would be much better if they could be always dragged around freely rather then having to pres on the double dots,almost as if they were on another layer that was on top of the standard icons

they dont use the old one so its not interesting to discuss here guys !

the photo widget is not working really good if u install something the desktop is empty like in leak fw in december i think... meizu will solve this problem and will integrate this next time with the search widget i think.

now i get some problems with sms turn of my delivery report and i think now it worx fine !

meizu dont have holidays so the develop and develop on new ui and i think on chinese new year february 14th they will release a new one with new widgets (i hope) so wait these days and we will see =)

on bbs is standing that meizu dont have holidays here u will see

meizu michael i think you have missed the points of my last couple of comments comletely.it is a compare and contrast between this official new style and the old so of course it is releveant. More speculation about a new irmware release date that has alreasy been quoted lods of times before is not interesting

with this firmware i am being told i sound like i am far away in calls. sucks m8 doesnt have exchange support i thought it did for some reason. far as the email client they have now it sucks because it pulls all my emails when i only want the past week or so should be an option. i like the calling interface but the sliding up to answer is a bit suspect. i noticed when people call me in my contact list it just shows there number. why does the top bar say no service when on the screen lock?

This latest fw doesn't seem stable enough based on the posts I've read on Chinese forums. If there is no new release (unlikely) by Sunday, I will stick with my current fw till after the Chinese new year. [edited by tilai as got confused with official 0.9.6.9 version]

@otgrider I think the new grid-like display is ok. I don't have any problem moving the icons around. I did find it a bit hard when the new UI first came out, but it's become more responsive. The only annoying part is keeping 2 rows free for each widget you want. I had icons being moved around accidentally when on the old UI, whereas on the new one, none (or none recently). So I prefer the pressing of the 2 dots. And it ensures the software doesn't start while you are pressing the icon.

I found that this firmware version doesn't keep flight mode on between restarts of the M8. Very annoying if you're on a plane, plus I sometimes use the M8 purely as a music player and battery drains much faster now that I keep forgetting to turn flight mode on.

No problems with this FW on my FE.
System is running smooth.
Photoviewer is very fast ... better then in 0.9.6.9

been using this fw for a while now my observations :

1) battery draining is noticeable when compared to 9.3.9 (official) not by much though

2) they still haven't fixed the thing where it says no service when it actually is connected to the provider

3) png working

4) picture viewer really much faster

5) changing the wallpaper and the access load times are much faster at that setting

6) network signal is much stronger

7) some have complained about the sound being lower i don't see that (actually never did) not in the music playback nor in the calling

8) mms working fine for me

9) sms ...i hope it is donno really

10) camera is still crappy (hope they bring back the old one)

11) deleting a song from artist/album/songs deletes it from the playlist that its in

now heres one complain :

when in the home screen while playing music the music widget appears right... when we double click we can control the volume/shuffle/repeat but we cant SEEK ... i dont understand why the bar is for the volume when we can control the volume from the side with the DESIGNATED volume buttons its just an illogical layout i think and i hope they switch the volume bar in that widget to the seek bar !

overall good UI, i am happy with it, very responsive, but still few bugs and chinese characters.. i believe it is NOT an OFFICIAL FIRMWARE..

These meizu bastards are smart.. keep us hanging for months and months on end, and finally when something IS released guess what ?? ITS NOT 100% finished..

People from this and other forums spend tireless hours creating, fixing, testing, adjusting etc new apps.. What on earth is the Meizu team doing ?? it should be their job !!

Bravo meizu.. Your company is to shame !!

I love my M8, but i will NEVER EVER EVER buy another Meizu phone again, and spend thousands of hours trying to get it to work..

Better off buying a REAL BRANDED phone, not a CONCEPT PHONE !!

for the no service while connected to providers, i have reinstall the firmware and it reworks !!

Have upgraded from the last official.
When i go on the phone-screen into settings/ SIM Manager and then SIM Contacts.
It keeps loading and loading.....
But it stops for example at "P". Q-Z will not be displayed. But it keeps loading.
It is also not possible to copy any contact. I could not use the button.
B.t.w. I have done a registry reset before upgrading.

I was able to get Email working finally. I had to delete all account settings, then create a new account and now it's running.
Now that I have tested it I must say that I am a bit disappointed :
