SMS Problems on 0.9.6.9

I've read that some users have still problems with SMS in the newest firmware. I have contact with the guy that is responsible for SMS and Phone functionality, so we can solve these problems. He solved the long SMS-bug too.

Please report here if you have problems and discribe your problem in detail.
- send or recieve
- what number format
- delay or never arrived etc.
"SMS not working!" is not usefull...

With that information we may find the mistake.

Im in Chongqing, China.

Sometimes, i dont know why, i can't send SMS. When i push the buttons "send", nothing happen.

Sending never seems to be a problem, always send (+CCXXXXXXXXX, with country code).

Receiving is usually OK, sometimes it can take 24 hours (almost precisely) to receive SMS.

Haven't had problems for a while, maybe because I turned delivery notification off?

i dont have problems sending mms or receiving them and i dont have problems sending sms but receiving seems to be an issue now sometimes i receive the sms instantly some other times it takes 24 hours or even 48 hours and two smss have never been received .... its not about the format im sure as i use the international format with the area code and its the same number that sends me those smss .
:S they need to work on this issue asap
and i have delivery report disabled

my problem is i don't receive sms
sending is ok (without country code it's good)
the only way to receive a sms immediately is when i do number of my provider to know how much money have my count

Only had a delay of receiving an SMS once... I received it a few hours later. (+36xxxxxxxx) Other times it was always ok from the same number.
And of course delivery report never worked.

Send SMS is working fine but Receive SMS is not working for me!
I still use the format +33 6897......

and at the same time, tell him why the phone can connect to network but it say no service on lock screen

i just sended 1 sms and recieved 1but after that my sim card was
blocked, i was sending sms to my self but never get them(i got the smss after 2 ours)my wife sended me sms i got it after 2 ours,i had to remove the sim card to another phone to get sms and be unblocked and then put it back on the m8 ,send 1 sms and then blocked again.
any idea what to do
by the way is this firmware official?

i have almost the same problem, send & recieve one works but then nothing. tried xxxxxxxxx and +46xxxxxxxxx and its the same, nothing. in the old ui's firmware these both numbers worked.

problem with receiving

number format of the sender:
no +31 (country number)

Delayed arrival

Calls are received normally

The delays are comming from some persons, almost all have got the same providers.
other smses I do receive instantly. Sending does work good to all those persons!


Edit:

Again I did not received a sms, my classmate said he smsed me, didn't received.
Afterwards I put my simcard in my google g1. and all the smses started to come.
First one was one from vodafone, next 3 from my little brother, 2 of my girlfriend, 4 of my classmate.
Seems like the vodafone sms was "stuck" in the simcard or something...

same problem:

MY girlfriend and i have German "Eplus" network, with firmware 0.9.3.9 i recieved every sms in about 1-3 minutes ! Now i wait about 5-10 hours to recieve a sms from her.. ? its also with my friends if they send me a sms ...
next problem : if someone writes me a sms with the lengh of 2 i get it in cuttet parts.. something like : "Hey what are u doing ? im going to the cinema tonight" i get that sms in 2 parts but not complete..
1sms: u doing?
2: hey cinema im going
...

Crimson05 , is it possible to fix the problem of SMS for the next official firmware? i mean Jwong say that there is a new firmware will be release before they go holiday.

Chances are low because tomorrow (or today in China) is the last day they are working before the Spring Festival.

As i always say: the most problems, of which i read here, seems to be cused by the transmission confirmation. You can (and should) disable this function in the sms settings menu. then sms will work well.
As long as you dont disable this option, the m8 waits for a confirmation and this blocks other smses. so you will be waiting for christmas for your sms (as the doctor said).

@crimson you could say him that he should have a look at the confirmation sms because there seems to be a difference between the eutopean and the chinese way of doing this.

I can send SMS but not receive, in some people

i am facing the same problem, i am able to send message without entering the country code but i am unable to receive them.
