Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postsi think thats helped for me:
after i installed the new firmware from today 0.9.6.12 was the first thing i do (after changeing the language to english) the deactivating from the delivery Report.
I Think the Delivery Report is bugy, and when you send a sms when it is acivated then the firmware is waiting for answer from the carrier and this is blocking the incoming sms.
Before: i recieved sms with a delay from 24 hours.
After: i recieve now without delay
Ps: Sorry for my very bad english. iam from germany

Thanked 138 Times in 53 PostsThats excatly the point. First thing: disable delevery report. Then i have no problems with sms.after i installed the new firmware from today 0.9.6.12 was the first thing i do (after changeing the language to english) the deactivating from the delivery Report.
Evertytime i had it on, got sms delay. Everytime then when i put my simcard into another phone, the first thing i got were 3 or 4 delevery reports. I say: just disable this and the delay will be gone.
I think maybe m8 tries to block sms which are not in your contct list, and delervry report is surely not in there

Thanked 138 Times in 53 Postsi think you cant disable the report and the problems are gone.
Either you disable it direct, before any problem occur or i think u need to put the sim in another phone, recieve all sms, then put it back in m8 and disable the report there.
I think if the problem occurs once, thats the only way to get rid of it. maybe try to intsall the fw again, and direct disable the report.
If you have a delay, disabling the report is too late i think.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsAfter you setup a password for SMS Lock you have to add contacts to the list and then check the checkbox next to their names. After that if you want to read a locked "thread" you will only see a blank list (a bit inconvenient...).

Thanked 19 Times in 11 PostsWhat i advise to you guy is to disable the statut report and re start your meizu.
Then dont forget to put you sim to another phone and deblock all the sms. You will receive all the late sms.
after the sim sms deblock you can put on you M8 and now you can receive your sms without delay

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsOk so, looks like we have isolated one problem... it seems delayed SMS is caused by the delivery report being enabled. Now what about SMS never received...? Is it caused by the delivery report too?

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostI haven't read all posts, but I want to share my observations.
I usually have the phone turned on all the time, overnight as well.
Today I had to turn it off because I had an exam, and when I turned it on, I received 3 SMS. All 3 where sent from the same phone, an iPhone 3GS, with T-Mobile Germany contract. 2 SMS where from Feb. 9th, one from Feb. 10th. Today is the 11th... So I didn't get any SMS for about 3 days from that person.
But I received an SMS from Feb. 9th yesterday (Feb. 10th) that was sent from a G1. Without turning the phone off and on again.
Another SMS from Feb. 9th from a different phone arrived on time, with no noticeable delay.
I hope that helps a little
(Delivery report turned on, no blacklist filter, my provider is Congstar Germany (Congstar uses the T-Mobile network afaik))Last edited by Yeeze; 02-11-2010 at 12:09 PM.

My observations:
- network carrier is TMoUSA
- 0.9.6.12 fw
- Delivery report enabled
- +1 (xxx xxx xxxx) number format
- sms goes through w/o issue; timely
- delivery reports not received on M8...but when I put SIM back into HTC Touch HD they are then receivedM8 Black 8gb - FW: 0.9.6.xxx
M6 White
