@Joxt
I have the same Problem.
Please help if there's anyone here..
I am from Germany (+49)
What do you guys have filled into the "my number" settings?..
All my contacts have the "0" now and when i get called, everything is fine...
But when i get a sms the +49 number of the sender is shown, so the phone doesn't recognize the contact
greetings.

an idea. Maybe some problems are caused by the backup restoration made with Sprite (look in post 1).

@poko2000: the sound is determined by software (firmware) this should be clear by now and it's not working.

@cmdv: I have never been able to send a picture message. I a lot of other phones they have detailed settings for MMS and SMS. Under APN, you only see the blue dot next to tmobile not other settings, etc....

@jaysharp13: I don't think that will do you any good I talked with a person from tmobile's tech support when I first got my phone, and I found that I had more experience then they did dealing with this phone. However, I could be wrong. I talked with someone for over 1 hour and I educated him on the inner working of this phone. One thing they might say is where are the settings for MMS, because in most phones APN, MMS, and SMS settings and configuration is very detailed. We have only a few screen and registry correction we can make. Still let me know what you find out, however this is something I explored in detail previously.

@cmdv: Yes, that was something else I confirmed with guy at tmoble epc.tmobile.com is good as well as the other one and server settings are correct. Still maybe jaysharp13 will find out something new.

I see all is well in Meizu land. It seems J. Wong needed more testers and he got'em. I tested the phone and the cpu is working kind of hard also the battery gets taxed very fast. Most of the things that have to do with sound are a mess. Things like voice recorder, music player, etc. Note that even if you turn the main sound to 100% in setting you get 45 to 50%. With previous firmware, 50% was 100%. Music was too loud to listen to. Now, the sound quality is not even that good, and I should not have to mess with the equalizer. @919263 your Iphone manual helped me do some brain storming and I will do a few test latter. I have seen how the Iphone's MMS,APn, and Sms setting look and they are very detailed. Wish meizu would have copied that. Anyway, I noticed that damm clock widget will not display 12 hour mode for nothing. That really kills me it's a basic function. I don't know what more to say. They made this look high tech but it's a step down in function ability. And yes, I some people have no problems in there parts of the world where this phone causes no problem but Meizu has to realize like it or not they are international.

so I am going to post my experiences with this fw package (didnīread the whole thread, sorry itīs too long..)
* Calls & sms is not always working
* Alarm doesnīt sound always
* Call notification doesnīt work all the time
* battery drains fast
* some menuīs are still in chinese
* sending sms fails often & no delivery report
* itīs unstable

so i problably will be reverting to leak 27/01 since that one is more stable, i canīt recommend this fw package.

First of all, you have a quick look at the subforum "firmware".

You can easily spot the sticky "how to upgrade firmware on the Meizu M8"!

The rest is explained there...
