M8 Firmware (New UI) - Jan 29.

can someone here try to install a windows mobile app ... i just checked the root and there is a dll file in the intalldir says windowsmobile :S

Someone tested sms and phone function?
If i send a sms do i get them not a day later?

- pretty stable release, def getting better
- oulook sync (using windows 7 w/ windows mobile device center) syncs calendar and no contacts (like last couple of releases)

- i just attempted to install google maps for wm...hung when copying/installing operating files
- will restart and try again

in settigns/carrier/local number what is this function for?
has it something to do with setting an default coutry code?
somebody has experience?

has anyon tried the german keyboard on this new fw leak ? in the last, it didn't work

looks like they are moving onto the WM Apps Issue now. Seems plausible if the release date is in 2 weeks. I mean, they cant make empty promises

it seems so but still they still need to fix their sms issues ... i still can't sent myself sms and i do not receive long sms either .... btw i was using m8sprite and going through the registry and i saw something regarding the long sms called longsms... somthing if anyone here is an expert in registry stuff then have a look and tell us if anything is solvable by modding the reg

You got a screenshot of that?

to followup from above
- current google maps release for wm 6.5 did not install properly
- will try wm 6.1 release later

bigger issue:
- phone has reset my date/time ahead 24 hrs several times
- when I go to set the time M8 hangs at "system: date and time" screen (after I set correct time)...pushing "back" button does not work...must push M button to close out; restart and time is correct...go back to same page and you cannot use "back" to exist the settings page

I also have started getting some rezcal.dll errors (windows CE error window) as it appears activesync doesn't like my date/time and calendar issues.

How did you get it to work? Try to connect it via WLAN, but it's not getting a connection to the server.
Internet is running without a problem, so connection to I-net is not the problem, any hint for me?

i think they work very hard to make a final release so on not the 1.0 !
just a working NEW UI offical.
every day a new leak so maybe we can get another tomorrow =) that would be really funny but i think we will get at the first of february a new one ^^
for me no problems ... sms worx and calls, too !

Extracting the file from Rapidshare there are 3 things that come out:
2 Folders
1 xip.bin file
Both the folders start with B-
One is empty and the other has a 114,935 KB size.
The lone bin file is 115,116 KB
Which one is old KB and which one is New KB???

B is old keyboard

edit* when u open the rar file ther is a XIP inside and a folder open the folder then there is a new xip this one is the B with old keyboard
