M8 Firmware (New UI) - Jan 27.

am I the only one who's having problems ?

No patrick iam the one who cant receive simple sms!
Short or long!!

to show my problem :





like you see sometimes it doesnt even want to send, and when it does the message never arrives back

and btw, I know that you guys can see my number but I don't mind

i can also recieve double sms

have you both tried to downgrade to the latest official f.w and sms and see if it works anyway ? it seems you have a substantial problem .... mm maybe a registry problem.. ?!

Silent neo i just donwgrade to the latest official fw. i have send my self sms and i receive it 1s later.
so the problem is the firmware leak.

yes first it did work silent-neo, at the official FW no problem

i see from your pictures that your number is not associated with the +*** (country code) am i right ? if so then thats why you don't receive your msgs you should enter +31 (thats the netherlands country code) before you number

worth trying offcourse but small message's do work

anyone can tell me how to do a complete clean install so I can watch if its a register problem or not ?

so people what do you think ? is it stable ? is it worth upgrading from a stable fw ?

for me sms don't work ... and calling only with country code, but the most time it doesn't work
but my sms is not more in chinese like in the leak beore
what is also crashing is, when i "call" my prepaid number *100# then it says network failure ..

Hi,
the 1% missing in the phone app is probably the "call history". I tried to call myself with Skype to try the phone, below the missed call, with the detail of the rings number (nice!) there are chinese symbols. SMS (short) works fine..

My problem is always that all the new UI's firmwares cannot read the contacts on my SIM card.. When I enter the SIM it says "Loading..." but it never ends (no progress bar or percentage). The phone contacts is empty of course, so I tried to add a contact and after that to "read" the contacts again. The "Copy contact" option give me only one option: copy from phone to SIM (I did not try) but not from the SIM to the phone. It means that he cannot see the contacts (250!) I have on the SIM but is ready to overwrite with the one I put by myself. With the older official UI I can read all the contacts, so I'm wandering where is the problem. Any idea?? Thanks!

1. install official FW
2. copy contacts from sim to phone
3. backup
4. insall new FW
5. restore backup

...this should help!

I didn't notice before when you touch the widget weather from down to up or up to down it change to the other country you add.

(happy) the new translations are good progress..like the widget opening...msn working fine...phone working fine (TMoUSA)...w/o country code issues

re: sms longer messages...able to sendi long messages. however, when I send it breaks them up into several messages of about 60-70 characters

Cool, thats´a progress..so you see, they "are" working on that..just a matter of time! - and that you can tab on the Widgets is very nice!

Thanks, it worked!! 2 months ago I tried a backup but I didn't know about the contacts (everybody was talking about contacts & outlook, but I don't use outlook) so I did not realize how "selective" a backup can be. I restored ONLY the contacts and now it's PERFECT. Thanks again!!!
