M8 Firmware (New UI) - 2009. 12. 07.

New leaked firmware (with new UI) has been released on bbs.

Changelog:

- Exit Browser button in browser settings
- automatic phone call recording now works
- yellow dots in the upper right corner when receiving a call - if you press the power button once the phone will be muted, if you press it twice you can hangup the call
- Photo Viewer seems a little less buggy, but you have to wait a little at every picture for them to become sharp
- Refreshing music library seems faster

The problem with M8 is I cannot follow which firmware is a safe and working one because there are so many of them. I have been upgrading the firmware five times already in the last month. Is this one reliable? Hate to spend another day troubleshooting.

this is a leak firmware. if you want stable firmware you have to take the offical ones.

Wait? The raysource link is stuck at 92,77% for more than 10 minutes now, but I'll have it soon hopefully...

Anyone had any issues with text messages and dots ? i have had the issue on the last 2 firmwares....

why not release a stable firmware each week instead of leaking one.

I think the FW could be pretty good and suitable, when the developers could setup a complete translated version in english and not so much chinese in a couple of menues.

- Internet much faster
- Picture sliding improved
- less memory usage

picture viewer quite slow, the new effect is not that pretty, and it's really slow to respond to fingertap. firt i thought it can only swithc between 2 images (the one i open, and the next one in the list), but i realized i just need to slow down the gesture. hope they fix it, but the best would be the old effect back
and also seems that the image viewr is not 16m colors so far, you can see stripes in pictures with higher color depth.
also the light fails to switch back the screen brightness when i exit the application, had to go to settings, and move the slider a bit, to get my custom brightness setting back.

also i have no idea how to refuse an incoming call, you can slide the unlock button on the screen to pick up, but pressing the power button once only mutes the phone, pressing it twice puts the call in the background: so seems like you refused it, no sound, drops you back to the main screen (or screenlock, whichever you were using last), but it's still active, and can bring it back with the task manager.
