no there isn´t another one.
cause it is risky to update the so called 'bios' if it goes wrong and you do not have the right tools you will need a replacement from meizu.

But the BIOS itself could be useful, if you would be able to tweak voltages to rise the cpu clock or maybe decrease it to save battery life.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Poststrue but since you can not edit the bios package because it does not have eboot source files it is rather useless

This doesn't matter at all, you only need to find out how the BIOS can be flashed and somehow it needs to be flashed. Who knows what functions are predefined in there.

if you want to change defaults in current eboot you will need the source of it before changing something. an other approach is using uboot what is easier since it is opensource.
flashing your m8 with the mentioned package doesn´t make any difference since you m8 will contain the latest available version , that is if you do not own a device build before the date the bios is been launched.
many people have flashed this eboot fw, if you want to read more about it i suggest to read the android thread, there you will notice some feedback from r3wdy who flashed this.
