Thanked 6 Times in 3 PostsI know you will hate me for this, but I think the new GUI is not that phenomenal. Most new GUI features were stolen from other phones, eg:
- Pulling the menu up stolen from Android
- Small line on the main menu that tells you on which screen you are - stolen from Android/HTC Hero
- In calendar the way of setting the date with the scrolling wheels (year, month, day) to set the time - stolen from iPhone/Android
- Picture viewer in landscape showing all pictures in "filmstrip" - stolen from Android/HTC Hero
- The pulling down of the upper bar (containing the operator name, date, battery state, etc.) - stolen from Android
- The new copy-paste way - stolen straight from iPhone
- The new way of rearranging the icons on screen: the trashbin at the middle bottom and the plus sign at the bottom right - stolen from Android/HTC Hero
It seems Meizu developers didn't have any ideas of their own, so they "borrowed" others ideas. Earlier the M8 was only an iPhone clone; after the new GUI is used it will be an iPhone and an Android clone as well.
I know that it is hard to invent something totally new nowadays, but there are too many "borrowed" ideas in this new GUI for my taste.
Unfortunately it also seems that the old, existing problems (eg. not changeable default Chinese keyboard, lots of text not translated or translated improperly, space missing from texts in Browser, etc.) are still not corrected and probably won't be corrected later.
So do not expect miracles from the new "final" firmware: it will have a better GUI (based on stolen ideas), but all the annoying bugs that make the M8 a bad phone will remain there.

what is you problem?
it looks good and has a good usability
tell me a really new concept for a phone
it is impossible
every company "steals" from others
look at macos, win 7 and newer linux dists
they all look nearly the same

Thanked 200 Times in 145 Postswaja2000 there are many that cant use their SIM's just with this firmware.
First i thought it might be a SE only firmware but that does not seem to be right.
They just need to install a proper firmware again and it should work.
(that is only for those where the SIM worked before they updated to this beta.)Meizu M8 SE - FW 0.9.9.18 (dao89 n450) Dualboot LBE A11 Android 2.2

Sorry but this is nonsense. Why we should send our Phone in just because the new FW doesnt recognizes our simcards. Its a FW issue and has nothing to do with the hardware. Heard from a few SE Users that the Sim Works with their Phones, so maybe it has something to do with this.
