We have nothing
Hi all,
Is there any company which try to build applications for M8 or games ?
All applications or games I have seen so far (maybe I'm wrong) seems to be built by fans.
Actually, each phone can download games from Gameloft for example. There have their own game version depending on their phone.
We have nothing.
So two questions:
- Why nobody wants to develop for Meizu M8 ?
- How can we show to them they should do it ?

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsAnd you might need to know: Nobody is going to invest in developing in a phone that is still developing different firmwares...
This phone is only going to be famous in china, in the other countries it will still be seen as THE iphone rip-off.Ben je Nederlands?

For whom?
For сhinese users?
Don't tell me. Chinese users NOT BOUGHT software. They want everything for free.
And who from serious developers will work for free? Nobody!
I think until M8 will not be sold in european countries officially (more european users), powerful programs and games for this device not appear.

Thanked 14 Times in 10 Postsastraware and popcap have both had multiple ported to m8.
Chuzzle: Meizu Me - Downloads - Chuzzle
Bejewled (doesnt work on recent firmwares): Meizu Me - Downloads - Bejeweled
Astraware Solitaire: Meizu Me - Downloads - Solitaire
Astraware Boardgames: Meizu Me - Downloads - Astraware Boardgames
Starpop: Meizu Me - Downloads - Starpop
These are just a few games, and you cant download them from their own website, but the apps are fun enough, in my opinion, to keep you going a couple of weeks, and by then we might have some more!

I need the M8 for Mp3 and Videos fo a few minutes.
Another way i use it for Phone and for some emergency prints, because i´m a firefighter and paramedic. The most calls are going to 110 and 112 in Germany from myside.

I'm waiting
My meizu just come in Brazil this weekend, probably I will take it in the next week. Here in Brazil, no one knows about Meizu M8, but everyone knows about iPhone, even when isn't sold officially here. Meizu comes from China and it make things more difficult. I hope to be wrong, but I think that Meizu have a long road to get more games and apps with more languages and anything else.
I already love Meizu

Thanked 6 Times in 4 PostsVery uninformative and negative Thread Title.
There are quite a lot of applications for the M8, some of which are developed for M8 specifically, some are build for Windows CE and converted / modified so they can run on Meizu's version of Windows CE.
The fact that there are applications being developed invalidates your first question. Your second question seems to be written out of pure frustration.
Is there a specific application you are looking for?

I have understood that M8 is not famous enough to be considerate by big companies.
OK, there are a few applications developped for Meizu and other converted from Windows Mobile. But it stays basic. The fact you have to convert apps or games shows that M8 is at his beginning in terms of development.
Maybe the new SDK will help developers. Maybe Meizu should develop their marketing branch to inform that M8 is a good product. I think we can help.
The launch of M8 SE is a good opportunity to increase the popularity of Meizu. They have to do something else than just create some news on their website...Last edited by meizucoeurme; 09-22-2009 at 03:29 PM.

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsThere is no doubt that Meizu is hurting themselves by not working with developers to port software to their phones. Why haven't they worked with UCWeb to insure that the M8 on their list of downloads? If they put forth just a little marketing effort a whole new world of applications would be open to their customers and this would make their phone more desirable to the market place. Unfortunately, this is not the case!

Thanked 6 Times in 4 PostsI think it will. As a programmer i have got a couple of idea's myself, i would like to build something in my spare time.
Agreed, but i think most of the application development will still be done in China. Let's hope they take an example in companies like cootek and the developers of M8Caller (which costs $0,99 , but i am willing to pay a a small price for good software) and develop international software.
On the one hand that is easier said then done, on the other they allready have. Otherwise we would not have a for M8 customized version of the Opera browser.
Read the frontpage article on a customized UCWeb

Thanked 1,049 Times in 391 PostsI do know the answer: not possible. It's not like you just run some converter app and out comes the M8 compatible version. The reason why Archibald's Adventure works is because it was written to be compatible with GAPI.
