Hi There.
I just got my M8 and am still very happy with it. It works great.
Now to the point. I want to get Tomtom working on my M8.
I installed tomtom navigator v7.450 on mij M8. It works out fine.
I open the program through the "documents" button on my M8 homescreen.
When I openend it, I had to start choosing a language, which I did. So then I got to choose a voice, the device said there weren't there. So that's te first problemen. But I got passed that. Now when I start Tomtom on my M8 it says; "No maps found" in my language. I believe something has to be tweaked within the TomTom software, but I believe it is possible to run it on the M8.
So the problems are;
-Voices are not recognized (maybe because the M8 doesn't have a memory card but a "disk")
- Maps are not found (same as above.)
I have made some photo's of the M8 running Tomtom, I will get them uploaded asap. Somehow that doesn't work for me now.
May we could open a new project. The Meizu M8 TomTom Project!?
I hope someone can help here, I think we all want real-time navigation on our M 8's
Best Regards!Last edited by derksenmartijn; 07-07-2009 at 03:27 PM. Reason: Just edited some

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsWell, Hi Again. To answers some questions; I am sure that I place the right files in the right place. I have used the following torrent; - link removed- The app does work on the Omnia. Althoug it is a different operating system, it is windows.
I have downloaded maps as well for the TomTom. I have tried the Uk maps (included in the Torrent) and I have tried to get it working with Benelus maps. But the maps are not te found.
Punchlinegott; How did you managed to get maps working on it?
Can anyone tweak te program to find the maps in order to get the entire program running?Last edited by nice2know_u; 07-07-2009 at 09:13 PM. Reason: Please don't link torrents

if i remember wel from s60 series you will need maps that are build for your specific tomtom version, and your license needs to be valid aswel for the maps.
not sure what is changed on security issues with more recent tomtom versions.
ps: windows =/= win ce =/= win mobile x

Thanked 2 Times in 2 Posts@derksenmartijn you have to spoof your device id into the maps using a specially designed keypatcher.
But it still won't run because of insufficient memory on M8

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsThat's so bad if Punchlinegott says true. 256 ram in M8 can't satisfy PNA TOMTOM?
... I have to stick with my PPC (64RAM) + pda version TOMTOM

Thanked 2 Times in 2 PostsI also tried the win ce 4.,2 version but everytime same problem as soon as it wants to load the maps the program aborts responding in the error message: Unsufficient memory...
Then I tried other pda version but there you have to place the map outside the disk folder in \my documents\tomtom. but there is not enough space outside disk folder. perhaps someone is able to change the path for the maps.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi, I saw you have the same problem I have. But there is a solution for the 'insufficient memory' problem. Go to this site;
- link removed -
There you can find the dll's that can help you solve the memory problems.
Now the map problem. Is there anyone who knows how to solve this? Because if we can solve that then we did it. The problem is that the M8 doesn't have a storage card but a 'disk' So the paths need to be adjusted. Tomtom Needs to understand were the maps are.
Anyone who got the maps working on Tomtom on M8? I believe I read something above.

Thanked 2 Times in 2 Postsmaps are no problem. just put them in the disk directory. before you do that you have to patch the device id in the map. here is a link where you can download maps and the needed keygen is included:

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postson the tomtom part,
you could google some on words like "hack" "tomtom" "mio"
cause i had a cheap gps from mio that runs with wince 5,
it was possible to replace mio nav software with tomtom software,
without any difficulties.
Maybe in some underground forum you could find help or tricks onto it.

Did you got it working? I have now Igo working on my Meizu M8 and it works great. But I like TomTom more, so I hope we can get it working some way?
I tried editing the registery for TomTom but that doesn't work for me. I am technical but maybe someone's more experienced with stuff like this"?
We can also try sending an email to TomTom requesting it for the Meizu M8? Anyone interested?
For now I got maps and voice working on my machine. But everytime I start up I get the error; Not enough memory is available. On the net I see a lot of people havings these problems on other machines. So I believe something has te be adjusted in order to get it working. I hope someone here can?
Thanks alot everyone for the help so far!
