Touchpal 4.0 problems

I have installed Touchpal and Norwegian language pack, but i can't see any change in the keyboard. Is there anything i have to do besides just installing the files?

It's pretty annoying have to change from Chinese everytime i'm writing a sms.

And another thing on the side, is there any way to get the keyboard in landscape when writing? Should have been as easy as just flipping the phone over to the side. The keys are just too small in portrait without a stylus.

Press the button on the left in the toolbar, and you should see the available keyboards.

What do you mean with Toolbar?

When i go to Settings---->System---->Keyboard i only have chinese.

When I click the "abc" button above the letters, I get two languages which I can change between. The first one is English and the second one is Norwegian. But the weird part is that there are no Norwegian letters on my Norwegian keyboard

If you cannot find the Norwegian keyboard, then you should try to reinstall the language pack.

Do anyone know if the Norwegian language pack includes Norwegian letters?

I also have the norwegian language pack, and the norwegian letters (like æ, ø and å) is not showing. But when you type, you can use o inside words to get ø, e and a to get æ, and a to get å.
So it is possible to write with those letters.
Problem is when you want to spell a word with those letters...

Ok. I have installed both the touchpal and the languagepack several times without luck. Running firmware 9.0.5

For now i am using the orignal keyboard with danish keyboard installed, works okey except the small keys (landscape would have been perfect)

This is my first phone with only touch screen, it's better to write on phones with conventional keys i think, this is two a hand phone and not made for writing sms and drive at the same time

Hi, I've installed touchpal and Dutch language pack. When I click on "abc" in touchpal I only see 2 English versions, no Dutch. Do I just reinstall ducth languagepack again? Do I need to do this from a special folder?

hi there,

after installing the language pack i´m not able to choose / select the language in the settings-list.
the new (german) language is placed at the bottom of the list and i always hit the EN button (that is normaly hidden by the list) if i want to select the language?!?
all the other buttons are working but not the new one? what have a done wrong?

i´m on 0.9.2.7 and i have restarted the phone etc.

If you want to make it work first restart your phone, than go to Device\Program Files\Touchpal\Surfaces and delete folders named "wubi" and "bihua" (you won't be needing them I guess) - otherwise you can't choose the german layout!

I have instaled the touchpal and PT pack, but, now, neither touchpal neither KBnormal --'
i select the normal KB and dont show nothing :S

are you trying to select the different keyboard types through control settings or m8sprite?

I have installed Touchpal, but every time I restart my M8 it switch back to default keyboard, is there any solution?

You can go to the registry and set the default value from "0" to "1".

- first download registry editor....
How to Change icon order and Name

- then search for the registry key (which also written is in the TouchPal.cab) and go to -> HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\..........\IsSIPInputMetho d -> default 0 and change this value to 1

I think here is where the problem is, in the cab of the touchpal, eather english or chinese, the string that set:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\..........\IsSIPInputMetho d
is missing, so I can not locate it, and change the value.

Run Registry Editor and you will find these values which are created by Touchpal itself! - set them like in my screenshots!

1)yes off course, is a missing part on the xml inside the cab that give the problem, this part is not missing in the international keyboard, but the registry keys are not the same.
2)yes I did, but doesn't work
3)I am not able to do that my skills are not enough.

The solution explained by the always helpfull rory is not working for me, but I find this solution, you have to change the value in the registry with this one.
