Smile Here You Go!! - Remote Desktop into M8

This tool displays actions on the Meizu M8, including user input, remotely on the display of a desktop or laptop PC. This is a great tool for demonstrating the power of the Meizu M8 to a large audience or to work more productively during the day...such as SMSing or Emailing from the device using a larger screen and keyboard. It also allows developers to test their applications for the Meizu M8 on a larger screen.

This is not quite as good of a solution as SOTI.net for WinMo, but it at least gets the device usable for demo or productivity purposes. I will update this post with the keyboard input enhancement so you can type on the laptop & have the M8 recognize the input as its own.

    My Current Config:

M8 Firmware - 0.9.1.0 via the 19/06/2009 leaked firmware (for SMS ID)
Laptop - Windows 7 RC (public)
Tether - Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) 6.1

    Links to Download:

Remote Desktop Utility Files - MeizuM8-RemoteDesktop.zip - Windows Live
Remote Desktop Demo Video (short) - MeizuM8-Demo-RemoteDesktop.mp4 - Windows Live

Note: I tried to upload the files directly here, but they failed for a random reason. Message me if you have any problems downloading from my links.

    Enjoy!

Nice! Too bad it's very slow...I guess it's eating a lot of memory on M8. I always wanted something like this...would be very nice to record what's going on the screen of the phone for reviews on applications, or reporting bugs...

Actually, the slowness appears to be purely ActiveSync/WMDC->meets->Meizu related. When I am tethered in ActiveSync mode....anything I try to do on the device is VERY slow....the performance using the Remote Desktop utility is (unfortunately) proportionate to the other stuff while tethered....I'm working on a LOT of things related to this device....so more to come. :-)

Actually a remote desktop application which works the other way (like VNC/Rmdesktop) would be grt then we can actually connect to our home pcs and access all contents on the phone....then the possibilities of using the M8 will be limitless as we would not have to rely on its processing power and compatibility anymore but on the PC that its connected to.
    Anyone know if its possible?

@baliles: Can you create a youtube app? I think everybody is waiting for that!
(unless you are a basic programmer...)

It will still be slow because the M8 has to process a bunch of images of the remote desktop screen for interaction. (For some reason i can't word this in a non-awkward way... hope you get what i mean)
