Rabsi you're really confusing me. AFAIK a laptop would have an ID, but not an IP. You create an IP for it manually if you want to do a PC-PC file transfer. Or it is assigned a network IP to identify itself through the net. If you do an ipconfig when it cannot connect to any network, it will give you an IP in the type of 196.XX.XX.XX which is not 'preconfigured'. But hey, don't take my word for it. I am not an IT guy.

Wow! That took me far longer than I thought. It was hard. Hope it will help some people.

Edit to add:
To those who never used it. After installation and starting it, you will find a picture similar to what guppi posted at the beginning of the thread. As you probably know by now, the 3 options at the bottom of the page are <Quit - More info (which is not useful for most as in Chinese) - Setup>. (If I remember correctly, the first time you need to open it through the "Documents" application, after which a desktop icon will appear).

I am talking about the options you have after pressing the Setup. You should then get a screen with 4 lines being
Main city
Other city 1
Other city 2
Other city 3
and you press the right side of the screen to choose your city.

After pressing the right side of the screen you get the cities list. You confirm by pressing the lower right Chinese characters in the blue lower bar, you go back by pressing the left Chinese characters (and it's got << anyway to help you realise the meaning)

How many more times are you going to ask? Seriously...

I randomly found a trick in the M8Weather that I didn't found metionned in this topic .... but maybe some of you have already found it .....

If you double tap on each city, you will update the weather forecast for the main city, and the actual weather in the three other cities.

Before, when I wanted a five day weather forecast, I went down into the options like mentionned before and changed the cities again .... Not very convenient .....

By accident, my finger "glided" on the screen on the mainscreen and one of the city below was put as main city .... with its 5 day weather forecast ......

So, just put your finger on one of the three cities below and "push" it to the main city zone .....

No.

Every device has an unique MAC-address. But that doesn't have much to do with what was discussed.
