how do i get wikipedia on my m8?

Hi folks! I would like to put a portable version of wikipedia on my m8. I found a good site offering downloadable versions but I can't find a suitable reader for the m8. Here you can find a cab to install Mobipocket, an ebook reader, but I can't figure out how to launch it. Anyone knows how?

Another try would be to get wikipedia in a format readable by the built in ebook reader. I didn't really try it out, so can anyone point me in the direction whether or not this might work? What kind of file does the ebook reader open anyway?

Or: Here are html dumps of wikipedia, so it might work to download it and just open it in the browser. Downside: I don't know how big these are...

Any help is appreciated.

i believe what you want is maybe too specific for your preferences... browsing on the internet on our m8 for wikipedia site is no hassle, you can read articles as the same as using a desktop pc.... and for me i prefer this way rather than a converting an internet site graphic interface to pure text to the phone.

Hi, what MeisterLampe wants isn't just to browse Wikipedia but to have an offline version of Wikipedia to read anywhere on his M8 which I think would be a nice idea as well. Similar to the "Wiki2Touch" app for iPhones. I don't think anyone's come up with a way of doing it yet...

I had offline wikiepedia on my iphone earlier before I upgraded the firmware, and it was awesome! It was around 2Gb without picures and those fact boxes.
Anyway those html files of should be easy to open on the m8. But not sure if it would work to search ?
the server http://static.wikipedia.org isn't responding me at the moment, so I can't have a closer look.

Download MDict for M8 and then you can use offline wikipedia database.

There is a Problem with MDict!

I have it but there are no articels inside! Why ?

The Same with Mini SNES ? There are no Games ?

Did you read this thread at all? There's a link in a post above from nice2know_u linking to the thread on Mdict where you will find everything including a post from me linking to dictionary files.

Here you can download the Wikipedia mdx files in your language.

thx. ifound that a week ago. but torrent is not an option for me...a friend loaded it for me!
