New Software: M8 Profile

How to use:
1. put the CAB file into your M8 and run it.

2. run the app. click one of the big icon to activate a profile, or hold it longer than 1 second for editing. Click the right bottom corner of the screen for backup/restore and schedule settings.

3. enjoy it!

Advanced Information:
1. under the "Icons" folder there are 7 PNG pictures as I've said. the AppBG.png is the background of the application, you can change it freely. If the picture is transparent, the background would be transparent. If it's not exist, the application's background will be totally transparent.

2. PNG pictures named Icon0.png~Icon4.png are the icons of your personal profiles. Each one contains two parts: the upper 128x128 block and the lower 128x128 block. The upper one is the icon displayed in normal state, and the lower one is in pressed state. You can also change them freely as you like.

3. the selected.png is the last-selected-profile indicator, whose size is 16x16 px. Again, you can change it anytime( or delete if you doesn't need it).

Update Notes 090205

1. Removed the restrict that the program must be placed under \Disk\Programs\M8Profiles. Now the program will find the Icons folder in its own folder automatically.

2. Fix the problem that after you turn on, and then turn off the key sound, you will still hear sound when typing the screen keyboard.

3. Change the ring tone file display from full path to file name only.

4. Support the default ring tone list.

5. If vibrant is set, the device will vibrate when activating the profile.

6. The time that the activation window shows is reduced by 500ms.

7. Add Mute System mode to Ring Mode selection. If chosen, the whole system will be muted and there won't be any sound.

8. Can select your own power on and power off music now. Hit the "Power On..." or "Power Off..." body to select( not hitting the switch! )

9. The app will remember the path the last time you browsed your personal ring tone or msg tone, and pre-open it when you browse again.

10. The selected setting in Ring Mode list will be highlight after shown now.

11. Now the Selected.png( that previous profile activated indicator ) can be any size as you like, not fixed to 16x16 px.

1. Added backup and restore ability.
2. You can now select the "default" tone in tone selecting window.
3. Now the tone you selected will be played.
4. The system Mute icon will appear at the top bar after ring mode is set to Mute or No Ring.
5. The IME will be set to English while editing the profile's name.
6. Vibrant will be checked automatically if you select Mute or No Ring. Of course, you can then uncheck it manually if it is not necessary.

1. Supports schedule list, which allows you to change profiles at the specific date and time automatically. Currently supports three schedule modes: disabled(doesn't work), once, and repeat weekly. And there is also a switch that can enable or disable all the schedules regardless the single schedule's mode setting.

2. Added a boot-start shortcut to the system, so the App would re-draw the profile name on the desktop icon automatically after boot up, and keep the schedule working with no extra attention needed.

3. Added the window animation to every windows, and changed some windows' appearance.

1. Flymode is NOW available. Don't forget to enter the setting window to enable the flymode switch for it is off by default.

*this is the newest 1.0.6 version, and probably would be the last version. Of course if any bugs are found or not compatible with future firmware I'll fix it, however if not, I'll let it to stay here.

**IMPORTANT NOTICE: the backup file and the schedule file(ProfileBackup.ini and Schedule.ini) are not compatible with previous version, please DELETE THEM ALL and re-setup all your schedules and backup your profiles again. Sorry for the inconvience.

1. Added the ability of adjusting the BackLight level, including the main backlight, the video backlight and the photo backlight.
2. Added a feature now you can execute an application after a schedule is activated.
3. User will receive a notice before automatically changing to a mode that will turn FlyMode on if the phone is not locked.
4. Other bug fixes.

Hi fineday

I installed it onto my disk\programs\

filder and then edited the registry to have the icon on the desktop and connected to the program, but when I click the icon, nothing much happens. The icon stays highlighted but noting happens. Am I doing something wrong?

This looks really nice!
If only it had a lock, shutdown and restart icon it would be the ultimate M8 app.
Looks like the M8 is picking up the pase app wise

Uploaded the cab file. It would generate the desktop icon automatically, so just download again and install, then everything should be OK.

Great update. Happy to see you actively working onthis. It feels so smooth andnatural as if it was always apart of the phone. This is something the phone should have had from the start

This is a really well done app. My Thanks. Sorry to sound greedy, but i hope we can see some more simple and good stuff - i wonder if we could get a nice weather app - sky weather looks cool, but totally chinese

Really appreciate your work, and reading the comments, it looks to be a great app.
But I have the same problem as someone else here as well.....
This is what I have done:
Put the cab in a folder under Disk
tapped on it...
It ran an installation routine
There is an icon on the desktop
But when I tap on it... nothing happens...
In your instructiions;

IN the 2nd step, you say about the big icon.. I am assuming you mean the icon that is placed on the desktop, then you say hold it for more than 1 sec... if I do that it goes into Icon move mode...

So I am a little confused...
My FW version is 0.8.0.1, could that be the issue...

Would appreciate any help...

You are probably right on that... Haven't had the courage to update the FW yet... so I am just going to wait on this one... but the Shutdown/lock app worked like a charm....
