I set it to my tmo proxy... seems that made it faster... dont know if this is a fix or not....

To try if it actually changed, try accessing Facebook (a site that doesn't work in Chîna). If it works, you've successfully changed the proxy.

I used Hexworkshop:

when you search for ascii the string 'http' it is the 3rd find.

Server timing out...
in the address bar if you put about:Config
you can access some more settings...
But no proxy there either..
I am getting 2 errors on Facebook...
Server Not accessible...
and
Server timing out...
So probably that is not the fix...

Crashes often, is slow, and most important, it does not download.
Although the options for download are there, but still it error's out, and cannot download. on GPRS


Any one find out how to change the proxy's???

i cant say something to the download option but after insalling of opera the standart browser got really quick
has anyone else discovered that?

Maybe this version of opera sets some proxy server('turbo' server from opera).

See if you can acces facebook with the original browser.

Is there any method to change the default proxy so not to behind the China GFW?

Guys, the latest java-version of opera mini5 is very nice and comfortable. BUT whyo won't they make a good version for wince. Always questionning myself...

And what did this do for you?

I think this app is great, much better than the original M8 browser. Where is this browser sourced from?

I did it to try to use european servers with this version of opera instead of the filtered chinese ones.

What settings..??
