How much better will M8 apps become once MStore supports pay-apps?
As some people already know, Meizu is working on enabling payments for applications through the MStore on Meizu M8. I think the main reason why the iPhone model worked so well was that some could actually get rich of creating fun and useful apps for the device.
I think we will see a sharp rise in quality apps when the developers receive something back for their work. The current model of free apps makes it near impossible for professional software houses to create applications sustainably for the M8. We have already seen iPhone game developers, like with Mr. Jelly come to the M8. So far, Mr. Jelly is only available as a test/demo version. I think once Meizu enables payments, a full version will follow.
What do you think? Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

Thanked 480 Times in 146 PostsI like the idea that apps will get better, but how we going to pay them? I don't think anywhere in Europe there will be a store or service witch you enables to pay the apps. And they're going to be Chinese anyway, or at least most of them

Thanked 50 Times in 30 PostsInteresting question, you might be right. I do not know how exactly the situation for the iPhone and Android is. Can anybody give a background on iPhone and Android apps, i.e. how many of them actually cost something, how much the average price is, etc?

Thanked 14 Times in 9 Postsits not just about the apps ... its about those weekly f.w upgrades which causes most current apps (free or not) be unusable from one fw to another ... once meizu stabilizes on one fw then developers could start working on some usable and good apps ... on a second note i do agree that once developers see that they are getting something for what they create then the apps library will be grow ! (i hope at least )

Well, I think it's safe to say that if it the developers begin getting something back there will be more applications for the M8. Today we have many great apps even though the firmware gets new upgrades several times a week. When they get one stable firmware and stop releasing upgrades so often there will probably more apps.
The developers will get their chance to spread their work through the MStore and it will just get better from that point.
Actually, I dont think many people use applications very often. Most of us just use the core features of the phone like call/sms, it's the same with iPhone, people get it, try out some apps, then a month later the "hype" is gone and they just use it like an regular phone
Off course some people use applications daily, and I think the M8/M9 could go the same way as the iPhone has gone if you look at the apps/games.Last edited by Strumpa; 02-28-2010 at 11:47 AM.

Thanked 138 Times in 53 Poststhe problem is that the m8 is a very open device compared to tehe iphone. On iphone you cant copy a file or a game. So everybody who wants it must get it through the appstore.
On m8 this will be not a big problem. And so, i think that much coping of games and programs will be so there will be no big market.
on android, the most program (like everytime on linux) are free. thats a point for me of getting android, because of the great community and that much open sourve programs

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsThey can do that, it isn´t that hard & comes build in with winCE.
But i do not think we as international user will benefit from this.
Most apps will be in chinese and i am not willing to buy an app that i do need to translate myself and comes from a webserver with low transfer speeds..
I think it is to difficult to say much at this point, let us await a final FW version, then we will see cause like it is been said; why develop to re-develop it again when the next leak arrives..?

Thanked 31 Times in 18 PostsQuickest fix for this whole thing, just make the OS compatible with other software.
This way you have time to develop and your phone has usable, function able apps.Last edited by Timsomor; 03-01-2010 at 01:02 AM.
