    Official Meizu MyStore Applications Thread

Here are some of my initial thoughts...

    Positive:
    - The Tetris clone (Mytris) is super smooth and an example of what games on M8 could look like and that the Meizu M8 is capable of great games.
    - The "falling" game (clone of PapiJump on iPhone) has a setting for the English language. Hopefully, more developers will translate their apps in the future.

    Negative:
    - We will probably never see apps like Facebook or Twitter since those services are not used in China.
    - The developer pages are all in Chinese which will hinder any English-speaking developer.

Click for a list of all apps.

What are your thoughts on the newly launched MyStore?

Yep, again, app store is so promising but it need to be propagated in English also, 'cause Treasure Box app only supply Chinese version - too inconvenient and useless #_#

I think the store may be a good idea regarding developer support. Having a store means Meizu has to support developers, like providing SDKs, etc. I don't know in what way Meizu already supports independent developers, but if support gets even better, there could be even more apps for the M8.

    That should probably read:

    - We will probably never see apps like Facebook or Twitter since the gov-ern-ment blocks any social media or user-generated service that hasn't reached a "working agreement" with the relevant authori-ties or that they outright have no control over.

Twitter was growing rapidly in China before it was blo-cked; in it's absence, there are at least half a dozen homegrown Twitter-like services that have sprung up and are crazy-popular. No doubt you'll see one or more of them on the M8 soon, if not already.

Yeah, true. Not available hence not used. The homegrown services are not viable alternatives for us outside the country.

PapiJump is more polished. I call it a clone because:

    1. Similar hand-drawn graphics style
    2. Similar vertical gameplay (here downwards, instead of up)
    3. Similar control scheme; tilting left & right.

Still, one of the better games in the MyStore.
