It's used to calculate your available hard drive space, after you make partitions on it. It automatically converts gigabit to gigabyte.

Don't see any real practical use to this however...

Perhaps a second Partition to install portables Apps.
like Portable Firefox, Portable Thunderbird......and and and...ther gives many portable programs to use on a usb-Stick without installing to your PC. You have your own E-Mail client, I-Browser and other programms and can use it on most PC(windows).
    You can find here...:
PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives

This is a long idea from me,to make a second Partition, cryptet with Truecrypt(portable too) install all my Portable Apps i needed. When i lost my Phone nobody comes on my dates or Password from my email-client or other PW for log in to Websites....

I don´t know how is the Write/read-speed from the Meizu Disk...but when i have a little bit more time, i will test with a second Partition...

or anybody have maked a second Partition on the Meizu???

A reason for a further partition I still can't see. All PortableApps you could put on the M8 in the folder disk and connent it via USB-Mode.

It's used to calculate partitions on a PC, not on your M8. Look in the example, it says 640 GB.
