OEM and Dane-Elec

I understand you only sell the 4gb M6 in the Dane-Elec version, so I was wondering if the Dane-Elec version has full support for Chinese Characters.
Thank You very much

There are no physical differences between the OEM and D-E versions. The only difference is firmware, which is interchangeable since they use the same hardware.

By putting the Meizu firmware on the player, it would have full Chinese language support. Changing firmware does not void the warranty, and can easily be changed back if you choose to.

First off, thanks for the fast reply!

Is it simple to switch between firmwares? Or is there a lot of work involved with the process. So far.. I'm still a bit clueless on firmware. Thanks for the help jarmarc

It is a very simple process to switch between firmware. I can install whichever firmware that you would like prior to sending. I have an order for 4GB on the way that should be in stock on or about October 23rd.

These will be OEM, preset to English.

I hope I'm not asking too many questions, I just want to make sure I know everything before making a purchase.
Once I have the Meizu firmware, I have the Language in English, but once I upload songs titled in Chinese, will the titles be in Chinese? Or no? When they say Dane Elec does not have full support of Chinese Characters, does that mean it has zero support? For instance if I upload a song with a Chinese title, will Dane Elec show it?

The Dane-Elec firmware does not support Chinese characters at all.

The Meizu OEM firmware supports Chinese (simplified and traditional) and English. When set to English, it will correctly display Chinese characters.

I will have a new shipment of M6 players (4GB and 8GB) in early next week, and these are OEM from China.

Wow. Thanks for the great information. Hopefully, if all goes well, I will soon be making a purchase from you!

I saw that the bundles on your site are different from OEM and Dane-Elec. When you get a new batch of the OEM ones from China, do you have any idea what the bundle will look like? Will it approximately be like the OEM ones, since the Dane-Elec ones come with some different items with the package?
Thanks again Mark

I have receicved my newest shipment. These are OEM players, and therefore do not contain the discontiued accessories included in some of the Dane-Elec packages (lanyard, carrying pouch, and cleaning cloth). As far as I'm concerned, the only item worth anything is the cleaning cloth, which can still be accomplished with a clean cotton cloth. The carrying pouch requires you to pull the player out to view the screen or access any of the buttons or functions, which is quite inconvenient.

The accessory bundle package includes a crystal case (with belt clip, viewing kickstand, lanyard, and button extender), silicone case, elastic armband, and USB travel charger. It's a great value for things that you'll want to get anyway.

You never stop amazing me JTC Electronics! Just as I was about to purchase a SL from another site due to the fact that you do not have bundles, you come out with your bundle, that is of better price and includes cheaper shipping and a discount! I don't think you can find a better online retailer!

Does the 4GB bundle come with a button extender for the crystal case? Would it be really necessary? Also is it possible to specify the colour of the silicone case, crystal case, lanyard etc.

Lastly, does the wall charger fit for standard Canadian/American homes?

Thanks!

I recently received a bundle package from JTC. My crystal case came with a button extender. The wall charger was standard two prong, american outlet ready. The button extender is totally necessary, as the thickness of the crystal case would make it pretty hard to push the power button without it.

As a side note, the lanyards are pretty hard to feed through the tiny slot for it. I had to push it through with a wire. The silicone case looks cooler than the crystal case, but provides zero protection for the screen.
