Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsJust installed this, but nothing happened? System looks the same. Is there something I have to do to launch it?
edit: Well, let me try again, I have installed it at a wrong location...
edit2: Same...nothing changed. I tried to copy it to \data\app_s\ but I'm not sure if it's the same if I try to copy it to /data/app_s/ because that did not work.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Poststhe difference in slashes between windows and *nix is terrible annoying!
so the one you did not get an error on should be fine.
but i must say i looked a bit on the rosie ui, it seems that a device must be rooted first. i am not sure how we must understand a rooting rom for m8
And then again on other sites i did notice that it should been installed on a SD ... so it is confusing, and without testing it myself i can not say for sure how to do it.
But.. did you try and install an app? just to see if this works?
(you could download a huge list i posted here )

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsAwesome Evow04!
I will try it but I suppose that my skills are not enough to make it work.
Also because MeizuOs doesnt work the dualboot loader (it freezes when go to sleep).
Anyway, really thank you.

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsOk the apk files are zip files, and the wallpapers are into the apk of Launcher.apk if I'm not wrong.
I installed Rosie into the system/app directory but it seems it is not recognized by the application manager. I opend it and I've seen that there are graphical units (borders, buttons) but there isnt a Rosie.dex file.
If I'm not wrong a dex file is the bin file, so this zip doesnt have the binary.
What I mean is that this is an optimization for the desktop system, and doesnt include the bin file. So what I need is the old Rosie apk, and maybe this rosie works only on what they call "JAC".
I'll ask for the old rosie, and for help, on that forum

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsKirash,
it seems that you are doing well!
Indeed the link to the rosie i posted is an optimized version.
i thought let me post that one cause some people complain that the full version is slow.
I would say keep us posted

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsShall I open a new Thread on the developing of Rosie on Mdroid?
What I mean is... do people care about Rosie on Mdroid?
Anyway, the Rosie UI seems to replace the Launcher, but they can work together (also if useless). Actually, if I push the old Rosie package (with the odex file) it is not seen from the application manager and I dont know how to launch it by shell (please someone say me this...) or how to see errors (some log file?).
If I try to replace Launcher by Rosie (cause I dont know how to launch it) the system doesnt boot and stops on a *** Waiting Disk ***, and If I try to install it... it seems I dont have enough space:
./adb install /sw/android/RosieToggle/Rosie.apk
2881 KB/s (3651788 bytes in 1.237s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/Rosie.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]
So, I will probably need a bigger mdroid.img.

It's anyway awsome to be able to try to use Rosie on M8, so really thank to the MeizuME Android Staff!!

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Poststrue, but if the rumor becomes reality cause meizu launches a kernel..

Anyway i was just thinking, you might try to install basic themes first to get some experiences with it?

Thanked 10 Times in 7 Postsya, I need a generic knowledge about the "desktop environment" before I can really install Rosie.
I was tring to let modified launcher.apk versions works, and there I got the *.acore error, so I will need to know well how to read errors etc.
I'll ask to xda, i'll open a thread there asap.
ps: What? Meizu has compiled their own kernel??
