I've got two folders of photos on my M8 that don't display the thumbnails correctly. One folder shows half of the thumbnails whilst the other shows none; this is what I see:

Does anyone know how I can force the system to refresh my photos folder, so that these display properly? There doesn't seem to be anything in my ThumbDB folder; I did try deleting that folder and restarting the phone, but there must be some database file I'm missing...

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsTry, 16MView, you can display almost any photo with it.
You might want to check your photo resolutions, the M8 can not read anything higher than 4 megapixel.....Ben je Nederlands?

Thanked 8 Times in 4 PostsThanks. I've tried 16MView; I couldn't get on with it. All of the photos have already been resized so as to be viewable on the phone.
I tried formatting the 'drive' and putting the photos back minus all the ThumbDB folders in the hope it would force the phone to refresh the views. This has not worked well at all.
I'll try resizing the photos again, this time to an even smaller size, and see how I get on.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsHow many photos do you have in the folders? Works ok if I only have like 20-30 in them, but I have 2-3 folders with 80+ pictures in them and they don't refresh either. Opening them is no problem...

Thanked 8 Times in 4 PostsThis doesn't make sense. I've got 8 folders; the biggest one has 461 images in, so I can understand that one not refreshing. However, I've got a folder of 206 images that does show the thumbnails, and yet a folder of 11 images won't.
I've found a workaround for now, but it's a pain in the butt:
1. With the phone connected to the PC, create a folder called ThumbDB in the image folder you want to have thumbnails displayed for (My M8 doesn't always create this folder)
2. Copy the images across to a folder on the PC
3. In Photoshop or any other imaging software, resize each image so that the longest edge is 120 pixels
4 Add ".jpg" to the end of each file, i.e. image1.jpg.jpg
5. Copy these images across to the M8, putting them inside the ThumbDB folder
Essentially, you're doing what the phone should be doing. You shouldn't have to, but when you have a large folder of images and you just want to pick out one, you're gonna need to display those thumbnails!
