Hello,

At sometime the m8 turn off and i cant reboot it after it. (Battery isnt empty)
I have to put out the battery and insert it again. Than i cant boot the phone.
Another anoying thing is that the battery only last for 1 day if it full charged.

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsMy battery last for 3-4 days in standby mode, but I've too the freeze of the system. I dont think is a problem of battery, you have to remove the battery because the phone is still "working" and doesnt aswer to commands, so removing the battery you shut it down. I think it may be a kernel panic or something like this, not an hardware issue.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsDamn i spoke to soon,
the 0.9.2.6 SE has it to, but not as fast as the newer ones.
So i think i will go back to the 0.9.0.5 version as test cause it is becoming very irritating and it makes the phone useless cause everything freezes and the battery drains very fast.
Hope some real stable fw will be available soon cause the m8 is becoming a very useless phone and i need to rely to often on my old phone to be reachable..

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsI have absolutely no idea what you people are talking about, i am on the 0.9.2.7 Firmware with absolutely no problems with the battery. It is just the same as any other firmware.
So what is the problem people?
If your battery drains to fast, check your settings on the display, backlight etc...
If it gives you false readings on the battery level, try to give it a full charge and full discharge(so charge your M8 and do nothing until it runs out of power), in this way the battery can recalibrate and hopefully it will give you good reading again.
I quote from the 'Lithium Battery FAQ & Care Tips':
How do I prepare a battery with charge indication?
Fully charge and discharge battery once every 30 charges or so. Repeat when readings get inaccurate.Last edited by LVL; 09-07-2009 at 10:54 AM.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsLVL,
the strange problem is exactly as described above.
Situation;
*having installed fw 0.9.2.7 OR 0.9.3.1
*no additional software installed except wifi
You turn on the phone, unlock the sim and place it in standby.
After a while (XX seconds, XX minutes, XX hours) the device does not respond by pushing, M - /Volume- /Power- /Audio - key.
It doesn´t react on anything anymore until you pull out the battery,
re-attach it and then boot again to have the same issue once over untill you reboot.
If i recharge the battery completely in the morning, boot the m8, place it in standby, i do notice after 1-2 hours when it hangs that my battery is completly drained with out using it at all..
Hope that this makes it easier to understand.

I have 0.9.2.7 and my Meizu last 4-5 days without any problem ALWAYS turned ON.
Try to recharge Meizu turned off for 2 times.
P.S. Don't ALWAYS activate Wi-fi\Bluetooth (and GPRS)...only when you need it

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsPeople, do not activate wifi if you don't use it, wifi is something that drains the battery very fast!
@Evow04, if you put it in standby, you mean by locking the screen or do you mean putting the M8 in standby with for example Suspend Assist?Ben je Nederlands?

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsHi lvl,
my last installs only include m8sprite and the wifi hack, so i just push the powerbutton to lock the keypad.
The system freezes and drains the battery without having wifi/gprs/bluetooth been activated, so this can not be the issue.
My normal standby time for the m8 is max. 2 days, now its is less then 24 hours, so if it is the battery or the way it charges then sorry to say m8 is really a crappy device.
Currently i am downloading the 0905 fw that came with my original delivery.
So i will install again by first clearing registry then upgrading.
Afterwards i install the wifi hack and m8sprite, if it give problems again it is:
or the m8 itself (like kirash says)
or m8sprite
or wifi hack
or something that is been backed up -restored.
So you will know more in the following hours ;-)
If the issue remains i am sure that i will dump the m8.
ps how the hell do you remove old backups in the settings menu?

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsDon't we have a option to clear the statistics, which includes last time since charged, data transfer in MB etc.?
I don't think any of the programs has to do with this issue, I just looks like people need to fully charge and discharge the device, and do it more than 2 times, so your battery readings will get accurate, the M8 turns itself of once it knows that the battery is lower than 5%. So I think it is just some reading issue that some people have. I certainly don't have it, so don't blame the software installed...
Just my opinion

thanks!
it seemd that i dod not try to do it correct , so thank you very much ;-)
So i downgraded to 0.9.0.5 yesterday evening,
installed m8sprite, wifi hack and imported my backup, so far no problems anymore.
Normally it would have frozen allready, and it seems so that the battery lives longer now.
I am allways recharging when the m8 indicates that the battery is low and is going to shut down, so that can not be the issue.I just looks like people need to fully charge and discharge the device, and do it more than 2 times, so your battery readings will get accurate, the M8 turns itself of once it knows that the battery is lower than 5%. So I think it is just some reading issue that some people have.
How ever i do notice sometimes that it complains to have 20 pct left and then shuts down.

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsMmm... mha! I may think about a windows error, a loop that uses full cpu, doesnt let the system respond, and drain the battery fast. But I dont know why it "works" on your phone and a few times on mine.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsIt is strange indeed,
I am thinking that sometimes the upgrading does not work 100 pct. correctly.
Anyway, i am back on 0.9.0.5 fw and i have no issue's anymore so..
it must be a software bug.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsKirash,
it should wipe out the rom where the win ce sytem files are stored (except bootloader)
But i am thinking that it doesn't do that all the time:
A wile ago i placed some files in the /windows folder, after upgrade the files were still there....
And euhmm.. we are 2 days further since downgrade to 0.9.0.5 my device just froze again, so positive side is that it is not so often anymore, negative side : it is there again

i begin to think this aswel, but without hardware refferences i can not say,

ps : funny thing is that since downgrade i did not use my phone at all, just recharged once : even then it is able to crash...
