Hi guys...
I am returning my phone to Meizu through a friend in Shanghai.. the city in which it was bought. I have a problem with the phone that is clearly a hardware issue and (hopefully) they will agree with that verdict.
What I'm wondering is what to do frome there. Should I ask for a completely new phone (which I'd prefer) and if they tell me to send it in for repair, should I insist on a replacement unit.. I dont trust repaired units in the slightest.
Has anyone had any experience with returning their unit for replacement, and if so, was it easily resolved or a pain in the ass to get a replacement unit from this company under their policies.
Thanx in advance.
PS.. the phone is still under the one year warrantee and is being returned to the Meizu location from which it was purchased by the friend of mine who bought it for me there.

Thanked 9 Times in 5 PostsI bought and had my M8 repaired in Shanghai. My problem was with the touchscreen not being responsive. They did not replace the phone. I encountered no problem in having them checking and repairing it. It took about one week to get the M8 back in my case.
Looking for a job in China, preferably in Shanghai/Beijing

Thanked 0 Times in 0 Postscould you please send me touch test on me (at) joortje.nl?
very strange, my meizu m8 is 3 weeks old, everything worked superb! then one day, it was just on my desk, the touchscreen started to fail, i cannot unlock with the left and far right icon. Can't type all letters. Seems even random sometimes. Sometimes when i pick up an icon and drag it to the middle to unlock the icon even jumps over the screen a bit. The screen is still scratch-free and wiped daily with a lens cleaner and tissues. (from my camera lenses)

Thanked 3 Times in 2 PostsMy phone problem on touchscreen some area not response.
I bought M8 on JAN'09.
On 20 Aug 2009, I sent M8 for repair.
I received M8 new phone SN: M81Bxxx... not RE ver., with run date 1 year for new warranty.
I think Meizu's company change policy for repair product,
Replace New + 1 Year warranty
but i'm not sure with failure case (all case or only touchscreen failed).
Good luckLast edited by adobe; 09-02-2009 at 02:05 PM.

Thanked 50 Times in 20 PostsMy problem is to do with an unresponsive 3.5 audio jack. Its clearly a HW issue as it persists through all FW... interfering with the ability of the phone to function.
I'd prefer a replacement unit rather than an repair attempt.
Adobe, I was just wondering... was your phone replaced with a new unit by your own request? Did Meizu replace the unit at their own discression or did you have to ask or insist on the replacement unit?
Thanks for your helpful insight.

Thanked 50 Times in 20 PostsUpdate: Sent to China and my friend took it in today to the Meizu shop where it was bought. They tried to tell him they would fix it, but he insisted on a replacement... analysis...some connection fault in the 3.5 audio socket (as I thought).
It seems to help to mention that you read these threads and know what ur talking about when it comes to replacement... as soon as my mate mentioned this to the dealer he had no hesitation in replacing the unit... lol.
Hopefully th enew unit will arrive back in Taiwan in a few days.. with no 3.5 jack problem... now all I have to focuss on is the FW issues.
Thanx for the help I recieved here.
