I Have a M8 White 16GB with Wi-Fi and I don't see the reason to exchange for a M8SE.
Everything works fine for me.

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsGreat, this means the next Meizu (Meizu 3G???) will probably have the same WiFi/WAPI chip inside:D
If so, i am certainly going to buy that one!

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsI am confused,
i thought it was not allowed in china to sell devices with wifi inside due a legal reason that the mobile providers otherwise would lose profit due skype-alike programs?
(have a look on iphone, it is allowed now to sell them but only without wifi)
And now they claim to sell it with wifi by default?
I seem to have lost the way, thanks for informing me on this.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsNow if they would release Android for it I'd be seriously tempted... although I think I'd still go for the Huawei U8220... a bit more expensive, but easier to get and better equipped.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postskadajawi,
i am also awaiting the launch of it.
it seems to be for the coming 2 weeks, and according the current information
the priceset for t-mobile pulse is about 257 euro beeing honest i paid more for my m8 8gb with wifi
but lets wait to see what m8se and the pulse will recieve from reviews in the coming weeks
Edit :
Kirash, the se should contain redesign of the pcb, meaning it would run with more performance and with less bugs in it.
look onto it like the ps 3 and the new ps3 slim, no huge diffrence jsut better :-)

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsOnly WAPI is legal in China, it seems that on top of WAPI, you can run Wi-Fi:
Read wikipedia:WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Edit: If the T-mobile pulse is that cheap, i will be buying that one for sure! My M8 cost more than that....
I looked at the specs, this phone CAN-NOT compete with the Meizu M8, it is awesome! It even has a trackball :D How awesome!Last edited by LVL; 09-22-2009 at 02:43 PM.

M8 Ver 1 users screwed...???
I dont know why but I have a feeling that with the SE coming, the earlier adopters of the HW Ver 1 would be screwed big time....

They have not been able to perfect the 1st ver, now they are coming out with ver 2 that too within or even less than a year of launching the first one.. does not sound good for us all here....

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsSo do i understand it correctly that the important fact here is just how the authentication works? And if it is, is it compatible with 'normal' authentication that is been supported by the iso for us european/american users their wlan??
in spec sheet it seems indeed very awesome, now it only comes down on how good it is in reality and if t-mobile sells it without simlock.I looked at the specs, this phone CAN-NOT compete with the Meizu M8, it is awesome!
If it is .. nothing is holding me back anymore
sorry that i went off topic again.
True but as always earlier adaptors are always been screwed.I dont know why but I have a feeling that with the SE coming, the earlier adopters of the HW Ver 1 would be screwed big time....
Then again, i waited long enough in my opinion for not beeing an early adaptor by waiting some months before buying an m8.
If you are happy with the technical background of your m8, then there will be no reason for buying the se.hope, the SE version is not worth buying it!!!
According current feedback the firmware is the same and hardware will only be a bit better to avoid current hardware issues.
So no worries.
seems that we share the same opinion,Same FW -> very difficult indeed
if the se is just a few changes on pcb mainboard it will stay possible to have 100 % transparant firmware, but i can not believe that the hardware will be exactly the same as the current one.
Because why would they call it SE instead of change some hardware without making rumours about?

According to this the audio chip has been swapped to a new Wolfson WM8993 (M8 is using WM8753 as far as I know).

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsWell I dont actually matter about hardware bugs... and about the ps3 slim it has a new cpu done with less nm architecture, so it's really better. Here the hardware is the same (I dont care about the audio chip) so there is no difference because you can get no performance from the pcb redesign, not with this firmware...

Now the problem is why did they redesign the pcb??

09-23-2009 #40You should; it's an upgrade from Wolfson's "Generation 4" to "Generation 6" technologies. If implemented correctly, there should be a noticeable improvement in audio quality & fidelity. Better power management, too.(I dont care about the audio chip)
Love the built-in parametric equalizer.
Congratulations Meizu; a substantive improvement all around and probably much closer to the phone everyone was expecting all along.
