Gmail settings?

For several Firmware versions I tried to set up my gmail account in the mail client. Unfortunately I was never able to send or receive any emails. My settings are:

name: test@gmail.com
address: test@gmail.com
description: test@gmail.com

Incoming Server
Host name: pop.gmail.com
user name: test
Password: testpass

Outgoing Server
Host name: smtp.gmail.com
user name: test
Password: testpass

ssl turned on so ports are 995 and 465

It simply does not work, neither on Wlan connections or CMNET connections. Did anyone get Gmail to work and can post their settings?

EDIT: do not include any characters like !@#$%^&*()": in your password then it works

Also in Gmail you have to enable POP in your Gmail settings.

I use gmail on Meizu...it works for me.
But just when I put "googlemail" instead of "gmail"

try this:
Incoming Server
Host name: pop.googlemail.com
user name: test@googlemail.com
Password: testpass

Outgoing Server
Host name: smtp.googlemail.com
user name: test@googlemail.com
Password: testpass

when i click update, it says "GPRS call failed"
help?

Ok, I always blamed the firmware versions or the encryption. As it is working with everyone else, I played around with all settings trying to make it work. It seems to be an password issue.
Apparently not all letters on the keyboard can be used in a password on the M8. In my case I was not able to use passwords with a ! @ # $ % " in it.
With just letters in the password it works just fine.

For GPRS call failed, change the GPRS settings to cmnet.

will i have to pay for it?

Pay for GPRS service? Yeah, make sure you have a plan, my service has a BS rate ($0.05 for 1Kb).

is their a way to do it with wifi? i have pay as you go...

i cant read mails but i can send them :S dunno why. when i try to update it says wrong password or username. and i have tried different passwords

You'll need to connect to a network that is connected to the internet, not all wireless access points are connected to a modem.

im still having difficulties setting my gmail account in the mail settings ... im getting "connect error" for some reason
i did enable pop3 in my gmail and the password does not have any weird chars only numbers and letters :S

help ? any suggestions ?

When I had problems it was for not putting the password in correctly. If you can go to gmail's main site and reset/change your password that may help. In my case once I reset it. No more connect problems.
