    Hi,
this is an issue we are all aware of.
just add/edit contacts with landcode included,
it will safe you troubles if you decide on day to go on a holiday and need to use roaming ;-)

edit, just found a file in /windows/phonenumberregion.edb , i did not notice this file in the past maybe by editing this file the issue could be solved.

I'am also new but am actually in Australia. Yes i would rather not have to enter all contacts again with the code. Any simplier way would be greatly appreciated

    Mr Helmut,
i did not notice the file in the past so i never tried to edit it myself.
but according to this: Windows CE Base Team Blog : CEDB vs. EDB
the .edb files is an api from windows ce , so maybe it can be edited with a dll editor like resource hack or pe rexplorer. Or you could try to open it with windows ce platform builder if you have this.

I will try to open with platform builder this evening if i do not forget it and have some time left.

wilson, an other approach could be to import with an active sync into outlook and then run a tool over it so it places on each number your region code.

Mm that is strange, i have no issue with this.
my contacts are stored like this: 0046705008999 because + and 00 is the same.
try to save a contact like that and try the sms/calling once again, you will notice that it shows the name in both.

I will look this evening on editing the .edb file.

No, you can save more than 1 number for each person. You don't need to have duplicates in your contact list.

I am from India and I have to send a message to my service provider, i would generally send it to "222". However, with country code how it should be send? +91-222 or +91-11-222 where 11 is the city code?
