Thanked 12 Times in 7 PostsRefer to Meizu M8 - FAQ.
Short answer: Go to Ebay or chinese online shops to find it.
It also says we won't provide specific references to any shops in case you were thinking about asking that.
Refer to Meizu Mini One M8 Specifications
The short answer: No.
Why you ask? Verizon runs on CDMA, the M8 runs on GSM. GSM ≠ CDMA, therefore it doesn't work.

Ebay...
search up iclone
simple...
Crimson05 is right, this is a MEIZU forum.
If i were you, i would ask myself
Hmmm.... Do i use my phone AlOT?
if no, use tmobile togo. cheap, but still lets you use the m8.
Besides, iphone clones usually suck. Haven't found a good one yet. AND NO M8 IS NOT A CLONE

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsnkog, let me correct you,
at the moment it is not that great with the current firmware.
The hardware is great, so if the damn software would get better.. we are all happy

Seriously
M8 is not good smartphone. Dont make me laugh. If you have money to waste, go get an iphone. M8 is the better alternative for those who don't mind waiting for a phone that has directions for everything. M8 is a challenge. Besides, Meizu isn't watching your every move
. You don't have to jailbreak M8. The only phone that can really compete with M8 is iphone app-wise. and M8 is pwn3ge and always will be. You cant get free wifi with iphone, no pocket RAR or led emulator or sprite or anything really amazing. Besides, the new firmware is REALLY amazing. MUCH better opera performance, very fluid UI. Love it.

Huh? As far as I recall, the iPhone does have a LED emulator, free Wi-Fi is definitely not limited to the M8, iPhone doesn't need a RAR app. Besides, decompressing RARs on a mobile device will take forever on that tiny ARM CPU, even my quad-core takes a while to decompress somewhat large files. The UI is mediocre in comparison to the iPhone's, where everything just mostly works.
Really though, I don't mean to hate on the M8 (hey that rhymes), it's just bad in comparison to the iPhone. It's an alternative--so is everything other smartphone--it's definitely not a replacement. In some ways it's better than the iPhone, in many ways it's worse. It might change in the future, but for now it's really enthusiast only.

Thanked 3 Times in 3 Poststhe m8's ui is honestly same as Iphone, that's true, tooooo similar...
and i think this is a shortcut to catch up with iphone
for this , it's be called iclone...,but you get it ,how you should complain about it?

well, m8 is better in the long term. you cant argue with that. If only Meizu would stop being stupid and quit making the m8 look pretty and get down to the bugs. People overseas have bought it. it works almost perfect. ALMOST. FIX the bugs, meizu! seriously!

Uh, how? I don't see hundreds of killer apps, nor GPS, nor many features the iPhone has. Really, stop comparing the two, you can't. They're quite different.

i did say long term
heres the punchline:
MEIZU IS NOT WATCHING YOUR EVERY MOVE MAKING SURE YOU HAVE TO USE EVERYTHING OF THEIRS. as i recall, all apps (assuming no jailbreak, which is risky) are made by apple, some cost money. M8: free
Internet:
Iphone: i think you pay
Ipod touch: WiFi
M8: WiFI
Completely Customizable
Apple: no
M8: yes
so, i think that the m8 has more potential than apple. only apple can develop apps for their products (again, assuming no risky jailbreak) while the m8 can be developed world wide by anyone.
so. yes. cant compare now, true. But in long term...
oh wait i forgot about Meizu itself. the way they are going, m8 software from them is doomed.

Well yes, lots of the hardware on the M8 is better than the iPhone's but in the end, which one is more usable? Also, even if the M8 is completely customizable, how much work is it going to take to get all of the customizations working correctly?
Apps aren't made by Apple, they only approve them. I think they have less than 6 of their own in the app store. There are hundreds of developers out there. Apple also doesn't watch your every move, although they do have the power to, and that's basically every single cell phone manufacturer and carrier.
The M8 would have to see an official international release and epic publicity other than Engadget and Gizmodo, before anyone takes the platform seriously and allocates their time towards developing anything for it. True, the iPhone is definitely not a finished product, but it's the one of the closest you'll ever get to maintenance free.
About jailbreaking, it's not too risky if you know what you're doing, it's just about as risky as a firmware update on an M6. If you screw up, restore and try again. Half the people I know that have an iPod touch jailbroke it.

yea. m8 is amazing. just meizu screwed up the software. main point: its jailbreaked for you.
And don't forget, i said LONG TERM.

So by long term, you mean after the 6th generation iPhone is released the current M8 will be finished?
Really, don't take me wrong, but Meizu has really pulled a Vista on us here, maybe it'll get better like Vista is now but for now, it's like Vista's launch.
-
08-17-2009 #17
true. actually, i still dont like vista
-
08-17-2009 #18
but of course, when the sixth generation iphone comes out (lol) m8 owners could probably just install similar software. it's like the wii and xbox. Wii comes out with system updates, while xbox comes out with new systems. I prefer wii cause it much more hackable and saves you money. No hardware upgrades, just software

Thanked 50 Times in 20 PostsIt all depends what you want the phone for.... If you want a phone that serves as a smartphone with easy, fluid GPRS and internet capabilities, then the phone is really a bit of a limp dick (only coz of the damned software/FW). If you want it however as a phone come multimedia device, come customise the interface... then its really a kick-ass phone. I use it primarily as the latter.. and the video quality (esp on mp4 converted to natural rez of 380x720) is clear and beats any phone display currently out there. Its got a very good music player (wish they'd work more on it though) and with lots of cool appz and a bit of knowhow, you can really get the phone looking any way you want.
