Phone earpiece sound not there
Hey guys,I think I have hit the point I had hoped I would not get to
Recently my M8 stopped functioning properly.
This is what is happening.
When I make or receive a call, there is no sound in the ear phone. It is completely dead... although the phone vibrates when the call gets connected but there is still no sound.
If I turn on the Speaker Phone ... there is sound, the called can hear me and I can hear him, but if I turn the Speaker Phone Off, no sound at all.
When I receive a call, the ring works, but if I try to attand/answer the call, no sound....
ANY one know what shit this is...
This is what I have done to try to resolve the issue:
Cleared the Registry
reimaged the phone with 0915
cleared the registry again
but still the issue remains.
The other thing is that sometimes the phone starts working just fine, I will answer one call.. andeverything is OK, 2 mins later I get a call or try to make a call the phone is not working OK....
REmember I am in the US... so suggestions for stuff that I can try real quick would be greately appreciated.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsI would suggest you update to the latest leaked firmware (0.9.2.5) or maybe to the last official one (0.9.0.5) then run this test program made by Meizu, select "Test Receiver" in the menu, and see what happens.
ps: Do you have sound if you receive a call with earphones plugged in?
You should also clean out the headphone socket with something small.

OK I am going to run the test. But let me make sure that we understand what the issue is.
I am not using any external earpiece, but am talking about the inbuilt earpiece.
Randomly the earpiece will have no sound... and that is the issue.
This happens both while calling and receiving the call. If I turn ON the inbuild speaker, then the sound is there......
At these times, I have rebooted the device, even taken out the battery for 10 mins and all that, but even that did not rsolve the issue.
I have just upgraded to 0925, and have d/loaded the testing app N2KU suggested, will post the results.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsI've just tried something...tried to call someone and pressed the Mute button after 2 seconds. Experienced the same problem as you guys. Earpiece was muted too. I had to press Speaker twice to get the sound back to the earpiece. And then I called the number again and guess what...earpiece was muted again. Seems like a big firmware issue.
Time to report it here: http://forum.meizu.com/redirect.php?...tpost#lastpost

OK, updated, and ran the test, it was in chinese so could not really understand it.
BUT, ran the earpiece test with the 2 sounds and that worked fine.
The 0925 FW has VERY clear sound in the earpiece... better than the previous versions.
Like I stated before, the earpiece sound goes out randomly... so am not sure if the phone is fixed, I will give it a couple of days and see if it craps out again.... Hope not.
Wifi & Gprs work, (GPRS/EDGE works on UCWeb, but for some reason not on the preinstalled Opera)
Any other ideas... for testing and all...

As long as it is not a HW issue, I will be OK, buit if it becomes a HW issue, then we have a big problem.
Anotherthing, for the M8Dock, this all started after I had installed gthe M8 Dock application.
Now I know you really do not reinstall the apps, but just bring them back thru Sprite, I would suggest you reinstall all the apps.
I install this order:
WinceEng
Eng AppInstaller
NetCF
Sprite
DesktopM
and onwards...
But if this comes out to be a HW issue... atleast I am screwed....

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsIt's not a hardware issue definetely. Never had this problem before. Also if you try to record the phone call it records correctly...so it's just some big bug

Still haven't managed to solve this...hopefully tomorrow's firmware will work ok.

Thanked 1,024 Times in 375 PostsAnyone still experiencing this bug, please try the new firmware JW posted on the bbs today. Now my calls seem to be OK, sound came back to the earpiece. I think he said they are fixing 0.9.2.6 and this is the first issue that has been fixed.
Firmware number is still 0.9.2.6, and nothing new, except bugfix(es?).

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi guys,
I've been searching for those kind of problems for weeks and could'nt fix it until today.
I have had the problem, that only my earphone played music or the sound from video files within the player. Even TCPMP was unable to play it trough the build in speakers.
When you try to change the volume (switches on the left side above), there used to be a small ribbon which is indecating the level... At the top you might see a round Icon....
This Icon was a earphone since weeks... I could'nt get it back to work with a speaker symbo.
Today I found at least how to switch back.
YOU HAVE TO PLUGIN YOUR EARPHONE AND TO PUSH THE VOLUME SWITCHES ONCE!!!!!
.... good luck for the other issue with the other speaker.
Bye,
Jo
