JWong news on M8 3G - no front camera etc etc

some JWong replay on meizu forum, i think important

on M8 3G pricing
JW : if M8-3G price is 2K++ rmb ...

JW :i just said if ... (on pricing)

JW: we planing support CE and Android BSP built-in system, but production unit only come out in Win CE version.

JW: M83G TD version will launch first, continue by CDMA and WCDMA version.

JW: Yes Will use 800mhz or 1G CPU

JW: M83G design hv some different with M8 design

JW: GPS comfirm will have it.

JW: Do u think from Camera is important? 3G more important on data transfer speed, current development M83G is without front camera

JW: front camera need very stable line speed, our country(china) 3G infrastructure and 144*176 resolution for video call owner not feel very good performance from current network speed. currently our develepment M83G version motherboard component is very congestion, without front camera module can give more performance for GPS antenna
Anyway it maybe will loose some customer requirement, but can get better balance in Time, cost and GPS performance.

JW: we not plan sell M83G T/C/W as a 3G phone, it just a more faster speed (data speed) M8 version.

thanks for the information.

So if i understand what he is saying , they do not have any clou on what hardware they will use, they even do not have an alpha model for now, so the deadline of march 2010 will not be true

My idea of using the same cpu as now, clocked on 800 mhz ,could become reality

So they are also playing with the idea on making m8 like a smartq 5;
using dualboot for android and wince, but only pre-production phones with td-cdma will become available with an android kernel?

I do not need front camera

I'll be honest, the front camera is not needed me, of course, are those who consider it a very useful, but I do not see anything useful in this.

I am curious of what will be the processor speed?

1Ghz would be awesome, haven't seen anything that fast on a mobile phone!
I think they would choose for 800Mhz, since we need to think about the heat problems!

There is 1 device on the market that is clocked on 1 ghz : the toshiba tg01.
But i do suspect that the battery gets drained very fast.

Beeing honest, if they do not switch to android and do not enable usb otg for keyboard oa. i think it has not much use to take a very fast cpu.

Right since meizu can call 6.2 hours(claimed) and the tg01 only 4 hours with its tiny 1000mAh battery....

Seems like a more update as the first should be.
No Tegra chip, too bad. I like the UI but no Tegra is a no go for me
