Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI dropped my MeizuM8 :(
And now the screen is all greyed out -.-
The touch functions still respond and such, and the phone works "fine", since when i plug it into my pc, the pc recognizes it right away. And it makes sounds when i just randomly press whatever button.
Grey/Black screen, what happened? Display gone? :/
This isn't just some random bug right? All i have to do to fix the problem is, as an example, press the m button 62 times ? :P
The phone fell rather hard onto concrete, with the display hitting first.

Have you tried doing a full reboot, powering the device of, taking out the battery and SIM, and then powering it back up?

Sounds like your display is broken, if it's only grey than probably only the backlight is working...

Thanked 5 Times in 4 Postsi read somewhere they fix those phone for cheap, but u have to send it to china. you should research it. I dropped my phone onto a cement floor and it survived, but thats because it came with a plastic/rubber protector and apparently it absorbs the shock. i got the 16gb one. i would cry if the screen broke on me. lol. good luck with that one.

Most likely your screen connector popped out, or rather, halfway out, and only the backlight works. Are you willing to take it apart and try to fix it? If not, I would love to have it
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Thanked 189 Times in 130 PostsMoofreak,
if you take a flashlight and shine on the device its display,
do you notice an image if the m8 is operational?
Cause the display could be grey/black due malfunction in the backlight or
due the lcd itself, just to clear that out.

Thanked 10 Times in 7 PostsI had this problem with a Motorola Pebl, the monitor started to flicker and after some day it was just retroilluminated. I tried to fix it but the video cable was soooo tiny! It was impossibile. Sometimes the cables are also soldered on the video device. I hope you can fix it.

No need to, I ended up having to do my homework on this issue when my touch panel cracked.

Moofreak, heres what i found;
You can contact meizu on this address letting them know that you want your M8 repaired: Info@meizu.com
But do note, that by shipping the M8 out of China, the warranty is forfit.
So you might wanna read this: Announcement of M8 after-sales service for overseas end-users - M8 Help Center - Meizu Forums
And heres what it might cost ya, minus shipping:
Repair costs... in Chinese...
Good luck with your repairs, if you decide to do so

But my question is why pay Meizu (and shipping) that much money when it is easily fixable?

It costs 300 Yuan for a new LCD and geting it installed at Meizu, and for one, i would rather that a Professional fix my phone than me risking damaging it even more

Then again, the Warranty is already voided, so why not try it?

$44 for a OEM LCD? Wow, I don't see any American companies charging that little for a new screen.
