Broken touch functionality (Any suggestions?)

then press the "button" on the part..
this will result in an electric shock..

now my phone will arrive china this week 4 repairing =)

I tried dissembling a lighter and use the little shock-thingy illustrated above. I had a problem with my left side, but after using this thing one or two times, it fixed the left side, but i had some very minor problems in the middle, so i decided to try some more... Don't try some more... Now my right side is unresponsive, meaning i can not send sms..... :/

Btw. about that tape? What kind of tape is it? I don't think we've got this specific 3M tape in Norway, at least under another name.. So if i knew how it functions it would help me on my search. Is it just standard black wiring tape?

Similar problem noticed on lower right side of screen. If it will get worse I will try fixes recommended here.

Be carufully when try to fix it.

I've tried using lighter and screen got worst. Tape did not fix it also.

This thing is driving me crazy.

And the worst thing the only way to solve this issue is sending back to china and paying all expenses

I've tried to find around the world a spare touch screen (digitizer) to fix my phone but did not found everywhere...

Meizu store dont't sell it and they said the only way to fix is send it back to China.

This tape is also called "SCOTCH number 23 tape"

It is rubber black tape normally used for electrical high tension devices.

send it back to ur reseller and u will have it back in maybe 3-4 weeks.
i send my meizu back from germany to china in 14 days !
my reseller bring the phone to meizu!
after 4 days my meizu send back to me ( the message i get today !!! )
now i have to wait, so now my meizu is away since 18 days !
the post office told me that they carry the parcels to germany between 3-5 days so i hope my meizu will come back soon =)

That's why I don't want to send it back to china, long time waiting, Customs taxes, shipment fees(going and coming) and other few things more..

My last attempt is get this device:

It's been awhile since I posted here the last time... My M8 had problems with the touchpad as well, tape didn't help so I decided to send it back to China. I bought the phone on ebay from a seller called buddha_yi. I wrote her and agreed to send it back to her. Long story short: it took about three and a half month but I got it back a couple of days ago and it works perfectly. I had to send the phone and the warranty and I sent it via something called value mail (Wertbrief in german). The thing is: out of some reason you need a seal ( you heard right with sealing wax and stuff) but it is insured and costs only 16€ to China. I hadn't had to pay for any shipping back to me or any customs. So apart from the fact that it took so long it was a good experience all together and I think I can recommend this seller...

Well, congrats you have it back ...even if it took such a lomg time , but good to hear that this things work!!

Now it is 14 days at the Meizu Factory for repairing !!!
Hope to get it back soon

So it seems tscreen died off today. Random parts of screen do not work/jump around. After my initial post (see above) everything was working fine apart from that corner, but now its totally random.

It started (not 100% sure as I am not the one using it) after it was taken out in rain, bag was soaked, but phone was in it's own small bag which was not wet. So not sure if water is reason for that :/

Will try to contact my retailer and get replacement (DX).

..but when you get your brandnew Meizu back, you can start with a great new UI !!! ( ..and don´t have to go trough all the leaks now )

a upgrade to 0.9.3.7 damaged my phone !
any touch problems come since fw upgrade...
maybe a corrupt file ?!

I don't think so because touch screen problem seems to be a hardware problem, and if it would be caused by firmware it would be solved by reinstalling old firmware

my phone worx fine .... i make a update to 0937 and then i have problems with my screen.
and i read that the problems are the same by other users

Well, this would be a real disaster for Meizu....seriously, I hope it was just a coincidence and not because of the update!

hmm, didnt think about that

i also did update to 0937 few days ago

and i am afraid person who used the phone might have not noticed that till today

i am trying to go back to 0927

will see what happen

problem still persists but its less noticeable, letter F on keyboard is almost impossible to press, also contact list when screen is locked cannot be accessed at all, on screen test app i can sometimes color most of screen even areas I mentioned before, but it keeps reseting itself (registering "double click") very often. before 0937 i could color without problems all screen with no resets.

weird.

guys it seems i ruined my touchscreen by using the gas lighter to often.
now it doenst work at all.
so i thought its "overloaded" is this possible? how can i unload it?

u have to wait long time but u get a functionally M8 with maybe a Final FW !!! =)
