Area code before call?

hello,

i have heard that when using the m8 to make a call that you havee to put in the area code before you make the call. eg i am in Australia so i to would be +614...

i do not have a m8 yet so i cant confirm this any help?

As of; what I've heard, and read, yeah, you need to add areacode.

beeing honest i never tried to dail without areacode.
I allways use international format hence i think most of you do this.
Otherwise you wont be able to call if you are on vacation, work,.. in a foreing country.

btw, speed dails to my phone operator (ea : 1230) allways work without intl prefix.

first i want to say..i think the same way as evow04...

all my contacts have the int.format so no problem there
and in general most providers do transmit all calls in the international format in my country

for dial numbers the few that i made so far were put through
probably a provider thing that some can handle it and some not

For me, I don't need to put area code when I call, but I have two numbers per contact saved.
When I recieve a sms, the senders number has area code, but when I recieve a call, there is no area code.
