Can't input proxy server

Hi
I am trying to set up GPRS settings for vodaphone uk but I can't seem to input the proxy server settings. The number keyboard comes up but it won't let me input the numbers. Can anyone help please?

click in the text-box maybe it will work then
hide and show the keyboard with clicking on the statusbar
restart phone
if nothing helps make a reg reset

ok tried all those suggestions - none worked - i cannot get to input the settings. Is there another way of doing it?
