Is the M8 right for me?
Hey! I'm in need of some advice. Right now I have a dingy Blackberry 8100 and I want a change. I almost ordered an M8 yesterday, but I hesitated. The price is no problem, but I still don't know. I'm on T-mobile, and I've heard there are signal problems for that service provider (but also that's it's a firmware issue).
I also am buying this phone for its dual-performance as a reliable mp3 player, because my PSP just isn't cutting it; I figure Meizu's history as an mp3 player provider would have them up to speed on how to make a quality music player (am I right?).
A minor concern of mine is the headphone jack. Is it the regular 3.5mm (as it is on the iPhone?). I don't want to have to buy an adapter to use my earbuds.
My last concern is with its phone performance in the U.S. as a whole. I've heard it works fine here, but I just want to be sure, with advice from people who'd know.Last edited by natemup; 07-22-2009 at 08:37 PM.

Thanked 173 Times in 72 PostsI, personally, haven't seen any signal problems

It is a good mp3 player, i am more then happy.
It has a regular 3.5mm jack (4 pins for headset, but can be used with a 3 pin for regular use without a mic and button)
It should work fine, since it is a quad-band phone, and the usa supports quad-band(different frequenties all over your country 850/900/1800/1900).
Your last point is prohibited, do not link to any website that sells the M8, i can not help you with that.Ben je Nederlands?
Dan kan je ook gewoon in de Nederlandse sectie reageren en vragen: http://www.meizume.com/dutch

Thanked 189 Times in 130 Postsok,
i can help with the last question but please do remove the link to it,
before we get banned.
I bought it on that place; it took about 15 days to get in europe,
the device was been opened to crack the wifi and select the english language.
On the end :
Pretty happy with the service however there are places where it is cheaper to buy.
ps i would get it, it is a really good device for the value, only thing i hope is that they solve the signaling issue.

cool, yeah I don't have an M8, just use a Nokia on Vodafone PAYG, PAYG as you probably know is a complete rip though, think contract is the way to go. Heard from friends that while orange isn't the cheapest out there the service is pretty good on contract.
You found any other issues with using the M8 in the UK?
Manage to set up MMS and internet OK? etc etc
apologies for briefly hijacking this thread...

So after this newest firmware (the official), does:
1. GPRS internet work through T-Mobile?
2. Wifi works?
