Update contacts to correct format?
Hi,
Does anyone know how to most effectively update the contacts to the correct formats? Example for SMS it need to be in a +65********* and for phone it needs to be 06*********. No spaces or other characters work.
I have done a bit of hunting around the net to see if there is any good vcf file editors, but not really any luck on that front.
I think best way (and correct me if someone else worked out a quicker way) was the export each contact into a single VCF file (I used a program called Outpod to split each one into their own file) - then open each file in WordPad and edit/save it from there.
It worked, but with a lot of contacts it took me a while.
Wondering if anyone knows a better/quicker way?

Thanked 46 Times in 22 PostsOk, let us try to develope something and speed up our problem

This program is in the ALPHA stage!
Just use it on backups of your vcf-files!

First configure it, then use it!

The way to go:
1. Use your M8 Backup function
Settings -> System -> Data Backup
2. Copy the "Contacts" folder from your phone to your windows desktop
...\Disk\Backup\<Date>\Contacts
3. Configure M8-VCF
4. Start M8-VCF
5. Navigate to the contacts folder and click fix it!
This version doesnt cares for any spaces.
If you like the program, found a problem or if you need the function to delete spaces inside the numbers - just post hereLast edited by wizard; 06-13-2009 at 08:04 PM.

Thanks! That will make life quicker for a lot of people I think!
Now...if only the next round of FW fixed this issue......Maybe something for the infamous 1.0 even!
