    20cm drop = 2 screens

    Ello all

I am just writing to tell you to look out for your M8!
This morning, i went to pick up my phone from my beside table, but sincei still had moist fingers from the bath i took, i dropped it. Ok, no biggy ive dropped it before from greater hights, but this time i ended up with 2 screens! ie the whole screen broke in two!
the screen still works though, but only barely, when i hold down my finger the mouse wobbles and i misclick alot more while smsing.

So watch out for your M8 if you treasure it! you never know what might happen

    not nice but shit happens!

i dropped mine from about 1m and it fell directly on the metalframe. it has a nice dent in the frame now but nothing more...after that i was sure that the phone is very stable...but now i guess i was just lucky...

what are you going to do with your phone?

I live in Denmark, and thus ive read myself to believe that all repair and varanty is voided, since its so far away from home.
I am gonna attempt go get my insurence to cover it, although it was a self caused accident.
If I can get any sum back, i am either gonna attempt to get a new M8 or go for an android phone, since ive fell in love with the way i could change the look of my home screen and icons

nice2know_u @ be carefull! you know now that it can happen with the slightest of falls, and whats the odds of that in the first place xD

Poor guy, really i have a killer suggestion.
    GET THE M8 AGAIN
    Why?
Because after you do go on ebay and look for a CRYSTAL HARD CASE, okay?

and if you like pizzaz o for a silicone case as well.

So, if you do get the M8 again, can you tell me where you got it and if is dual band or quad band?

    Thank you,
    Shadowstrike

    Sorry to hear that.

Nothing would 100% survive from free drops, so be careful about your phone is important everytime, not only M8, but also other ones, especially ones with a big LCD screen.

BTW: Long ago I'd owned a PDA, HP iPAQ hx4700. It costed me about 800USD to get it that time, and after about 1 year of use, it dropped from about 0.8m, and hit directly to the ground with the face of LCD. Nothing crack or broken of the appearence, nothing, but the LCD turned into five piece of glass and gone... 100USD had gone...

I believe product from HP is good in quality, and I believe if it was dropped in another motion, there wouldn't be anything wrong. However I was in bad luck that time, so I lost my favourate PDA.

Actually, regarding clear plastic cases, they do not provide shock protection at all, so if you had dropped your M8 along with a case, there is a 95% chance it would still have ended up like this. Silicone cases are great for drops, my 80 Gig HDD based player did not die with a silicone case, even with the HDD running, and it was from about a meter, while my friend's player with a HDD died with a 30 cm drop with a plastic case with the HDD off!

As for the band, the M8 is Quad-band, so no worries there.
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer
